Saluki Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 added a little Coupang. Not any particular news, but I've been thinking about diversifying globally as well as across industries. Ideally with compounders instead of cyclicals. Coupang (CPNG) (probably 1/2 the position size I want, but I'm already fully deployed) Fairfax India (FFXDF): India (could add some more) Televisa (TV): Mexico (full position) Alibaba (BABA): China (full position) I've been thinking about a good one for South America, but although Petrobras looks cheap, It's a cyclical. I really admire what Mercado Libre has done and how it's managed, but it's too rich for my blood. Tigo Millicom I've looked at but can't pull the trigger. Anyone have any suggestions for cheap latin american companies with compounder potential?
LC Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 PSMT? Spek likes it. Not sure about cheap but maybe for the watchlist.
Viking Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 SU. Looks like financial panic is abating. So oil, which got absolutely crushed over the past 2 weeks, is popping higher... makes perfect sense Oil stocks, like SU, look crazy cheap.

Red Lion Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Bought a big chunk T Bills maturing 7/25/23 for a 4.85 YTM. I am still looking into brokered CDs, but I think the T-bills give me liquidity as good as cash (for my purposes). Right now I'm sitting on a pretty big chunk of cash(T bills maturing 7/11 and 7/25) while contemplating the pros and cons of buying a private market real estate investment vs. investing in stocks or other securities. Also waiting for the right opportunity (in either of the above asset classes).
tede02 Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Yesterday I bought a tiny position in the common and preferred of SYF.
Saluki Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Sold a small position that I didn't want to hold anymore and bought some TV, Fairfax India, and Eneti.
longlake95 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Yesterday, Added a little TVE to my oil basket.
lnofeisone Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Picked up some 15 VET calls expiring in April. Corrib news is expected today/tomorrow and I think we might just get a pop but VET has been very disappointing otherwise.

Gregmal Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Grabbed a flyer on BUR into weekend. Pure gamble on ruling

I was thinking of adding last couple week but I ended up buying a bank basket instead. even after the 50% move I think this could still be quite undervalued, and all the Covid delays in their business will likely lead to significantly larger returns as I understand their litigation contracts typically have a relatively generous preferred return type setup. the market is just like a whiny client with a legal case. Everything always moves too slow, but in the long run I think BUR is a really attractive business model.
