Reduced $DHLGY and sold a bit more $BTI

What made you trim DHL? Just decide to trade? Results were not bad and they are probably better positioned to deal with US tariffs than the other big 2 (FDX and UPS). Could actually be good for them. Although they might reconsider trying to re-enter the US market.

The stock made a nice move due to the German stimulus , so I wanted to lock in some gains.

Sold some BRKB in a trust account where a distribution needs to be made the end of September.

Seems like a coin toss whether the price will be higher or lower then. I have no clue, but Berkshire is closer to fully valued now than it has been the last 15 years. Bird in the hand and all that.

I sold out of Adobe.

The barrage of negative opinions here has convinced me that at least it was a more complicated story than I initially thought. What's the point of such a great forum if I don't listen to the wisdom of the crowd? I still think this could do very well given the current depressed price compared to historical multiples and the upcoming increased share of software in the value add away from designers/editors. I like their deep enterprise moat and how they approach AI. If they succeed at charging companies inference tokens in addition to the creative cloud subscriptions it will be huge. But then again so many moving pieces and new often irrationally priced competitors so who knows where it will all end up. It was also taking too much of my brain time in the background. Another sign this was a "too complicated" pile investment.

I reallocated the funds to a bit of everything I already owned : Alphabet, Airbnb, Amazon and Patria (Thanks Spek for the idea).

This would be a great use case for using options but ADBE options are incredibly richly priced.

This was exactly my thinking when I sold my shares as well. It’s one reason why I like to post here what I am buying, selling or what interest me.

I think you need to have some insight into large corporate creative expenditure to bet on Adobe. If threats of AI in their business are overblown, you could do very well. You could also get hit hard if you are wrong. It needs an informed view of that market - long term business prospects are not clear at the moment.

I also think their inability to absorb upstart competitors is a big failing. Google/mega could buy small soon-to-be competitors. When Adobe tried a similar maneuver with Figma, it didn’t pan out.

Sold SMNEY after a year it was a 4.5X - probably one of the best returns I've had on a long only position, I think.

Now to just do that 4 more times. ha!

Got out of my BAH position the other day with the tiniest of gains - decided to quit picking up pennies in front of the steam roller.

\why now?

I sold most of them in Jan and Feb when the stock was in the 46-47 range. I sold as I have too much in the banking sector (I also have wfc and c), and I want to put some money else where.

Of all the compounder stocks that were super favored over the 2016-2024 time frame, what are the ones that have NOT sold off?

I can think of four.  SPGI, MCO, V, and MA

Very interesting.  I quite love these cos (though own very little due to valuation).  I'll need to look up how they compare with MAG7 - as until recently they hadn't done as well, so I suspect it's a case of what doesn't go up as much, doesn't go as much.
