tede02 Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I bought a trivial amount of far out of the money puts on NVDA.

Red Lion Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 More OWL. Now my largest position by invested capital at least, GOOGL stock and options might be worth more at current market. I’ve been doing a lot of thought about position sizing, perhaps increasing max position sizes. Otherwise I’m probably at my limit.

With the additional point being that one day I wouldn't be surprised if Apple tries to buy NTDOY.

Very low probability but not zero, although the ties to DIS would make it a bit awkward unless there is implicit blessing.

It’s also considered a national treasure in Japan which suggest it would get sold to a foreign company. Apple does not make large acquisitions, they are builders not acquirers.
Paarslaars Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) I agree, it would be a national outrage to sell Nintendo to the Americans. Edited June 6, 2023 by Paarslaars
frommi Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 bought more BTI and made it the second largest position (14%) after FFH (27%). Tobacco now at 40% of my portfolio.
mt04 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Bought some HURC today for MAs as well as TLF and ALCO for my PA. A few days ago, I opened a new position in MPAA.
Red Lion Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 BTI on margin in my IB account. I do have a ~35% T-bill position in another brokerage account which is largely earmarked for potential real estate deals/development, but I feel like I might as well keep the money earning 5% in T-bills rather than transfer money over. Overall I'm only running about 105% even on my IB account balance, I'm just very reluctant to use margin ordinarily.
Malmqky Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 More MSGS. Looking at Cigna...don't really understand the industry. LOTS of reading to do here before/if I pull the trigger.
Spekulatius Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 I also added a bit of BTI yesterday and before. I put some beer money into QQQ Nov17 puts with a $310 strike. I added some ELV shares a few days ago.
Saluki Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Added a little more Scorpio Tankers. I topped up my existing position about 10% more, hoping to follow @Parsad's method overweighting something slightly and then selling to get back to my original allocation when it goes back up.

Have you elaborated on this thesis anywhere? I can't find a thread...
Ross812 Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Started a position in Dollar General. Its been on the watchlist for a few years and picking this up at a PE of 15 seems to be a fair price for a great company.
