I finally came to my senses, selling [, this time definitively, -down the plank, - from the bench!!] :

Bavarian Nordic A/S [BAVA.CPH], &

Genmab A/S [GENMAB.CPH].

Ugh!

Furthermore, sold all shares in MUV2.DE - Müncherne Rückversicherungs-Gesellshaft AG, owned since 16 August 2013 [Munich Re], to buy Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd [Tororonto stock] for the brother part of the money [not all], from the days sales proceeds

Sold all of my smallish position in Unilever. I tought they finally might turn the ship around, but decided is not worth the wait & there are better investments. Market seems to agree with me recently

Why is it up 15% in a week? On news of FDA resignation?

FDA relaxing nicotine pouch and vape enforcement standards and to a lesser extent rotation into stable cash generative companies.

Isnt this a stupid market reaction if this leads to increased competition?

Right now BTIs main competition in vapes is completely illegal vapes from companies who aren't trying to sell them legally. FDA plans to crack down on the completely illegal vapes as well. A story we have been hearing for years.

Possibly, but to @yesman182’s point if we see real illegal vape enforcement that represents a favorable change in the competitive landscape, but I think some of that has been showing up in the share prices of BTI, PM and MO the last 6-12 months.

slimmed down my Crocs position. Building up a bit of cash. Trying to get to 10% but I hate the feeling of not being invested.

Just embrace it my man. Having 10% of your portfolio in t bills earning 4-5% and the other 90% invested will have a trivial difference in your year end return compared to being 100% invested.

Sold my Bollore. Not sure how the withholding tax shakes out but I can’t claim it back in tax deferred accounts. The stock has done Ok in the short time I owned it but not great.

Sold 1/3 of my ROST position

Just valuation or any concerns about the business? I have had a big ROST position for a long time and never see much discussion on it. Original shares are now a 10-bagger.

Only valuation. Even worse, it's kind of "practice" selling. Because selling positions is my main psychological problem. I almost regret it already because Ross Stores is one of the best managed companies I know.

What gives me a bit peace is, that retail is one of the worst sectors business wise. Volatility should let me reenter later this decade cheaper as I sold today. Hopefully 🙏😅

Gotcha. I sold half my position in early 2012 after a double in ~15 months.

Then I bought all those shares back and more at higher prices later...

Although in fairness a lot of my current position I bought in March/April 2020, so the sell/reinvest/re-buy worked out not terribly.

For me it was a triple after buying in May 2022. With selling 1/3 the remaining shares are probably "house money" as @SharperDingaan calls it 😉?

👍  Whatever is left after recovering the initial capital .... that remains invested in the name. Of course .... if you should also happen to get paid periodic dividends on it ..... 😁

I was a bit unsure about your exact definition of "house money". Hence the question. Getting paid for no capital involved anymore sounds good for me 🙂
