TAX ON, TAX OFF (Unfortunately, global markets aren't ...

That post shows exactly why Carney's speech at Davos was so effective and well received (and hated by Trump).

Comrade Carney has definitely got game.

@SharperDingaan is 100% right about the impeding bench clearing brawl - it's coming and will be entertaining.

Reminds me of the 1980's when the North American's (composed almost of all Canadians) started playing the great Europeans in Hockey.  The European/Soviet style: fast skating, great stick work, terrific skills - like a nice polite little tea party..

The North American's (again dominated by Canada):  brutal checking, bodies flying all over the place, totally gloves off.  That's Trump.

The game is on. Watch the crosschecking. Commie Carney, backed by the CCP, definitely has game.

"No thanks to Canada."

And proud of it!

I think Canada is onto something.  If you euthanize the sick and elderly there's huge health care cost savings.

It would seem that Orange Boy is doing whatever he can at the moment to keep the attention off Iran .... The US fleet is now there, the Israelis are pushing for an attack, Iran has moved up on Orange Boys hit list and Iran is warning that it will hit back hard if attacked, lots of US heavy lift planes left the US late last week, regime change is clearly on the menu, and the former Shah's son is the replacement in waiting. Oil prices moved up significantly on Friday, in anticipation.

The 100% CAD tariff threat is just noise, to keep Iran off the news cycle; so .... when the public expects you to react with a hissy fit ... give them one. Iran goes Trumps way, nobody is going to be talking about this. Same thing, if it goes wrong, and turns into a giant cluster f***.

Any kind of seizure of Canada triggers WW III, as the rest of NATO is obliged to come to Canada's defence; no different to trying to seize Greenland. Same thing applies to attempts to break up Canada via the intentional creation of social unrest to trigger succession referendums. The only time NATO's Article 5 (Collective Defence) has ever been invoked, was over 9/11 ....  not quite the propaganda being spun 😁

To keep the attention off Iran or keep the attention off Epstein - where the DOJ has been breaking the law for 30 days now in not releasing the files as the congress voted unanimously (minus 1) to do.

my observation:

The right is "pro life" - absolutely no termination of life of any kind - but you are more or less on your own  to find ways to pay for your own health , etc while alive.

the left isn't necessairly "pro life" at birth  or at end of life, but during your lifetime, they want to spend money to make sure you get free healthcare.

different philosophies !

Yep. Pretty clear that this is just outright murder.

With this sort of thing going on in public (and the government being totally cool with it), it makes me wonder what's going on in private. Is there another Abu Ghraib, just on US soil this time?

Well, as a Canadian I just hope Carney had an intent behind it's speech and that escalation was somewhat part of the plan. 4D chest game... we shall see in 3 months.

This should tamp down any good humor you're feeling.

This video was taken in the minutes leading up to the murder. Gun or no gun on the victim, you decide.

Here's another angle of the murder.

===

For those of you who are sick of references to 1984 and Animal Farm, here's another eerily accurate piece of speculative fiction by Sinclair Lewis.

It Can't Happen Here

"Nonsense! Nonsense!" snorted Tasbrough. "That couldn't happen here in America, not possibly! We're a country of freemen."

“preachers and modernist educators and discontented newspapermen and farm agitators—maybe they’ll worry at first, but they’ll get caught up in the web of propaganda, like we all were in the Great War, and they’ll all be convinced that, even if our Buzzy maybe has got a few faults, he’s on the side of the plain people, and against all the tight old political machines, and they’ll rouse the country for him as the Great Liberator (and meanwhile Big Business will just wink and sit tight!), and”

“not as perfect, but as the most probable saviors of the country from, on one hand, domination by Moscow and, on the other hand, the slack indolence, the lack of decent pride of half the American youth, whose world (these idealists asserted) was composed of shiftless distaste for work and refusal to learn anything thoroughly, of blatting dance music on the radio, maniac automobiles, slobbering sexuality, the humor and art of comic strips—of a slave psychology which was making America a land for sterner men to loot.”

“that useful Patriotism which always appears upon threat of an outside attack, the government immediately arrange to be insulted and menaced in a well-planned series of deplorable “incidents” on the Mexican border, and declare war on Mexico as soon as America showed that it was getting hot and patriotic enough.”

“All Corpo universities were to have the same curriculum, entirely practical and modern, free of all snobbish tradition. Entirely omitted were Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, Hebrew, Biblical study, archaeology, philology; all history before 1500—except for one course which showed that, through the centuries, the key to civilization had been the defense of Anglo-Saxon purity against barbarians. Philosophy and its history, psychology, economics, anthropology were retained, but, to avoid the superstitious errors in ordinary textbooks, they were to be conned only in new books prepared by able young scholars under the direction of Dr. Macgoblin. Students were encouraged to read, speak, and try to write modern languages, but they were not to waste their time on the so-called “literature"; reprints from recent newspapers were used instead of antiquated fiction and sentimental poetry. As regards English, some study of literature was permitted, to supply quotations for political speeches, but the chief courses were in advertising, party journalism, and business correspondence, and no authors before 1800 might be mentioned, except Shakespeare and Milton.”

I’d replace:

“The government being totally cool with it”

With:

”The government being the cause of it”

Another day. Another murder by the anonymous/masked secret police. An unconstitutional invasion spreading violence through government sanctioned murder.

And all of the second amendment thumpers who been swearing we needed to tolerate school shootings so we could stand up to these exact types of injustices sit in their arm chairs and cheer it on 😐

Then you have tools like Bill Ackman saying we shouldn’t be rushing to judgment, meanwhile Trump’s Nazi sidekick Stephen Miller saying the guy was a domestic terrorist.

Anyone who disagrees with das Führer is a terrorist.

But here I was thinking it was the guys in masks with guns who were assaulting women that were the terrorists when I grew up. I must need re-education.

As usual, Trump had the upper hand politically in Minnesota with the rampant fraud. Walz resigned. Trump had the upper hand and he literally had to do nothing and let the FBI investigate the fraud.

He then sends his goons in who screw up the situation so bad: two citizens dead. The U.S. attorney investigating the fraud resigned. Will turn most of the country against him re: the situation in Minnesota. He had the upper hand and now it will cost him and his party.

And every day that the ICE forces remain in Minnesota, it's just a tinderbox waiting to explode again with more dead Americans.

Listening to cranks Miller, Noem, etc. Stuff these people touch just turns to sh$t

All jokes aside here, Jeff [ @DooDiligence], :

I don't comment any longer on US domestic stuff here on CofB&F.

I have no skin in that game. If I don't like the smell in the US bakery mom & pop corner shop, I have the option to opt out [and incur by now gigantic deferred taxes surface]. 💡😒

Principles, opportunism, greed, hunger for more? 🙄

Cynical, but rational, as I have no vote on that.

[The Lady of the House almost went beserk on me, the first time I ever pulled the : 'I'm not set here on Earth to solve everybodys problems, you know I'm an advisor,  that's advisor 1-0-1, first thing, basics [, meaning unless you're paying up!].'.

She looked at me with a facial expression of severe disgust, replying : 'Christ, you're really a full blown, heartless, soulless, no-conscience-at-all, die hard a**hole!', to which I replied : ' I love you, too! -... By the way, how is it you can't keep your eyes away from my tidy butt and my [then quite muscular] thighs?' Reaction : <No comment> - *Meh* - *Silence*.

- - - o 0 o - - -

I will however mention here it's been all over the Danish media today.

You and your fellow countrymen need to take care of, fix this.

No it isn't. Trump will cry and moan like the TACO he is. The only losers who will fight for true bullshit are currently beating up 13 year old brown kids and shooting suburban moms in the face. He can play toy army in Venezuela because it's close enough to be justified (see how much you ate it up) but once he treads on a western ally's territory it becomes a different ballgame. My hope at least is the US armed forces aren't going to side with little stumpy if he goes totally off book.

Then again look at his Bored of Peace crew and it's fully the goonsquad so who knows, maybe now that our real generals all quit or were fired, our military will succumb to that bullshit as well.

@LC,

Your above expressed thoughts are - simply put - really - very uncomfortable to think about, mentally to pursue and to think through.

Just think: Dumb ass protestor decides to bring a gun to the protest of law enforcement arrest. Then dumb ass decides to actively interfere with the LAWFUL arrest of a convicted felon.  Oops, but law enforcement sees the man actively interfering is ARMED and dangerous.  Hey ! Someone might get killed! This is serious stuff.

Result:  Dumb ass libtard gets himself shot dead.

You can't make this shit up. Libtards never learn.
