boilermaker75 Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 A thumbs up for "The Head" -- a series on HBOMax. Its short - just six episodes. I'm through four episodes and its very good if you like suspense/mysteries. If this was an American show, everyone would speak English all the time. Anyway - this TV reviewer gives this one a big thumbs up! wabuffo But they would use accents!
Xerxes Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 I CANNOT recommend Yellowstone enough ! (on Prime) I like midwestern folks, my type of people, even though i have a liberal tilt
Pistachio_Lawyer Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Not sure if someone has already mentioned it here, but definitely Moneyball!! Its a great movie
Pelagic Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 I Care A Lot on Netflix. If you have elderly relatives in nursing homes or assisted living facilities it will really hit home. But otherwise a fairly entertaining movie with an interesting premise.
Jurgis Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 "The Legend of Cocaine Island" ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8106596/?ref_=rt_li_tt ) - It's about investing. Really. 8) Just started watching "The Barbarian Invasions" ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338135/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 ) - can't go into politics here, but it's about our Canadian friends' healthcare system 8) "The Trial of the Chicago 7" ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1070874/?ref_=rt_li_tt ) - peace bros!

Just in case it's not said, it's a sequel to a movie called The Decline of the American Empire. (not joking) 8)

We've been watching Bosch. Season one is a bit cheeky but two and three are better, imho. Some actors from the Wire, has a bit of the same vibe too in its best scenes. Though of course it's not nearly as good. Still, nothing is, and Bosch is very enjoyable.

Will watch "The Decline of the American Empire" sometime soon.

DooDiligence Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Just watched the 1st episode of an FX production on Hulu called “Snowfall”. It was riveting.
Xerxes Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 i am dragging myself kicking and screaming through Vikings season 4 (on Amazon prime). Man, such bad writing, but i guess i need to finish it. I did watch the "Courier" a spy movie set during the Cuban missile crisis. (very good movie). Cost as $14 USD, i locked that in with the FX being so low.
Jurgis Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Incident at Loch Ness - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374639/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 10/10
Gregmal Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Watched Class Action Park. Pretty awesome history lesson on what could have been for that area. Between that and the Playboy Club, Vernon is a great cautionary tale of failed real estate development.
Xerxes Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Just finished the new season with Bosch. I am unsure if this last season has a part 2 to it. Enjoying Loki on Disney+
wabuffo Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 I am unsure if this last season has a part 2 to it. This season (Season 7) is officially the last season of Bosch on Prime. Rumor is that a spin-off show is in the offing on something called IMDB TV. Perhaps explains the ending to Bosch Season 7. wabuffo
Xerxes Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Thanks ! I think Sopranos started that unhealthy practice of having two parts to a last season that was a year apart.
Xerxes Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Dragging myself happily through Expanse Season 2. What a novel story ! like to know how was the return on Church of Mormon long-term investment portfolio in the century that show is set, since they talk about Mormons. Did they beat inflation The Mormon Church Amassed $100 Billion. It Was the Best-Kept Secret in the Investment World. - WSJ On a different note - new Dune trailer. I must have read the original book 5 times, that is two times more than JRR Tolkein's Lord of the Rings books, which I set as my discount rate.

He keeps a good work life balance, and all the people he kills pretty much deserve it. Edited August 6, 2021 by DooDiligence error
