More Nintendo and Coupang in the tax advantaged account

Berkshire in my brokerage (aka my savings, because who needs more than a few months of living expenses in cash?)

Berkshire for my mother

Looks like I'm not selling Berkshire yet..

Sure. I’ve owned RSG since the GFC and have found it to be one of my most resilient holdings. The stock is up around 7X and the dividend on my cost basis is more than 12% as they routinely increase the payout.

The resiliency of the waste business is due to its duopoly nature at an individual market level. While the barriers to entry are relatively low to start a waste company, the key is landfill ownership as zoning new landfills anywhere near a major metro area is close to impossible. And if you start a waste company you’re paying tipping fees to RSG, WM, WCN or GFL. On this front GFL has an attractive portfolio of landfills, particularly in relation to the size of the company and its enterprise value.

While GFL tends to be comfortable with a fair bit more leverage than I generally like, they seem to be a solid operator and have done a nice job of quickly building scale. I’ll probably continue to build a position in GFL (and/or SES) on any additional share price declines.

Thanks. I agree with the attractiveness of the waste management business.

My concern / reticence has to do with GFL management team reputation.

Normally I would be more focused on the management, but these assets have scarcity value with or without this management team.

Added 16% [relative to sharecount before this addition] to Fairfax Financial Holdings [FFH.TO] position today, so it's now the sixth largest position overall.

Edit :

[Added at CAD 2.251.87 for some, and all, orders.]

Me too John.  Made it my Wife's largest position by far.

Added a little to my TRRSF position today. Released great earnings and the stock goes down.

I almost added more NTDOY, but re-thought it, I'm happy with my position size there.

More CPNG Jan 27 LEAPS and some CPNG common. Now close to my biggest position. The options on this name are priced quite attractively for the r/r.

Let's see how it goes, @73 Reds🙂 I personally think we're up for some interesting years, and a very rewarding row of years going forward. 🙂

I was also very surprised - management continues to exceed my expectations!

Agreed.  I’m happy to buy more at this price.
