cwericb Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) Trump threatens war because he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize. Anyone here not see the irony? And some here still don't doubt his sanity? What does it take to invoke article 25? PS. This is real, not some internet joke. But nice to see his efforts are so altruistic and patriotic. Edited January 19 by cwericb

The text is what I’ve seen reported elsewhere, but the mock up with the White House logo and all is fake I believe. It was basically a text message that Trump is supposed to have sent to the Norwegian PM. You just have to lol at how silly some of the comments are. I remember thinking with Biden ‘yeh, this guy is losing his marbles’. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump is losing his.

It’s not a letter, it was a text message from Trump that was released by the Norwegian government due to information disclosures laws. A lot of things seem too whacky to be true but you never know nowadays. I have shared my thoughts about Trump’s mental condition already and expect his anger and impulsiveness to become ever more dominant. I know for those who think highly of him, it’s all 4d chess.
SharperDingaan Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) A big part of this is Europe's inability to get its act together. Call the bluff, shit on the other guys carpet, intentionally start a fight, and piss off the opponent enough to finally act. Long time coming, and not a bad thing; the US is actually doing Europe a favour. The more viscous the response the better; clear the bench and say your apologies later. One can always dial it back ... after the knives are blunt! The world is changing, and Europe either moves with it or gets left behind. Extend and pretend is no longer a viable option. No - the real problem is Europe is destroying itself and the current administration is extremely concerned about your weak leadership. All the speeches from JD Vance, Marco & Trump in regards to Europe can be summed up like this: "Wake up Europe & Save Yourself before it's too late"

Xi, you can have Taiwan, the Philippines and do what you want with Japan and I'll take the Caribbean, Greenland and Canada. Eric [ @cwericb ], Please see content of posts above by @Sweet and @Spekulatius, Which content both are what it really is about : None of your sources above really are primary, so you are here introducing cognitive bias by somebody putting this White House paper context into facts, 'to add authenticity'. So, the facts are : Nothing available abaout it on the White House website. - - - o 0 o - - - So, what was it, really? : POTUS is totally ignorant about how information about how his communication with other political leaders in the West by text is handled elsewhere, outside White House, thereby - unintentionally - dragging his own trousers down, so to say, in public, thereby doing a public 'mooning', exposing his own lack of competence and ignorance! If they wouldnt do anything to Big Bad Vlad in Ukraine, you really think they’ll do anything in Greenland? European leaders rule with an iron fist through book reports and regulations, not military might. Correct - if Europe will use this Greenland "crisis" to unite themselves and stand on their own to feet for once - no one will be happier than the USA. Sometimes you wonder what it takes to shake a population out of their own stupor. You have basic fundamental deep problems to resolve - especially your own self defense, but also including the loss of freedom and European culture. Trump respects "action", not "talk".
Spekulatius Posted January 19 Posted January 19 There have been legit press releases before that were not posted on the WH website. Just saying. Reuters is typically reliable.

The Kiel Institut for the World Economy is an independent, non profit economic research institute. Its a very influential institute in Germany lead by some of Germanys best economists. Its the oldest economic research institute in Germany and is partnered with the Economics Department at the University of Kiel. I am sure that @cubsfan MAGA analysis from his basement is more precisely analyzed than what the Kiel Institute has to say ha! The Kiel Institute is full of climate change windbags that are idiots. In fairness, the USA is full of these clowns too with their "climate modeling" nonsense that predicted the end of the world by 2020, while China ramps up fossil fuels and laughs at us. I love how you say "Germany's best economists". You forgot to add - they are almost always wrong just like Al Gore & Greta Thunberg.
