Madpawn Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I thought we would not be getting any additional ads on top of Aja migraine relief stuff. Kinda disappointing given there's also a joining fee :(
adventurer Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I just switched from Windows to Mac and installed Adblock for Safari but it does not seem to have any effect. Have ads gotten worse from yesterday to today? The amount is unbearable imho.
Valuebo Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I got 6 in this thread now with a pop up about privacy and cookies too. It's insane.
Milu Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Yes I’ve also found the ads quite annoying to deal with, particularly when browsing from my phone.
Blugolds Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 phones dont have Adblock ,but I have a couple on my iPad and MacBook…not a single Ad on COBF for me! if I glance on the phone, its pretty bad.
MungerWunger Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 definitely close to unusable with all the ads on the phone
CharlesMunger Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Thats what the general category looks for me.
Cod Liver Oil Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Yeah, my phone screen lousy with aggressive ads here. Help!!!!
John Hjorth Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Gentlemen, Which browser on your phones are you using for opening and logging in on CofB&F? [phone combined with browser?] - Thank you in advance! [I speculate it may perhaps have something to do with that?]
dwy000 Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I get there has to be ads its just the format of some that are annoying. I keep getting ones that automatically drop down from the top and block content unless I minimize it. And others that overlap with the "back" or "next" button so I have to scroll to the bottom to change the page.
Value_Added Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I use the paid version of Malware Bytes on my iPhone, iPad, MacBook, windows PC and windows laptop and it pretty much gets rid of most ads. The only one that remains is one at the top but it’s cut off so isn’t too much of a nuisance.

Thank you.

Thank you. I like having the extra protection and ad blocking available across multiple devices and device brands. Nothing against windows defender. I do the same with VPN (Vypr) and password protection (LastPass). Its just easier to have it available on all devices. Edited October 3, 2025 by Value_Added
Parsad Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Hi All, I'll send these complaints to my IT guy to fix them. Thanks! Sanjeev

I can't even log in to the forum on my new phone through Chrome because of all the ads. One add basically covers the entire space to input my login info. Any way to circumvent this?
villainx Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 I'm on iPhone Safari, with no ad blocking. Isn't there always a place to press to minimize the ads?
cwericb Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 (edited) Get zero ads on my laptop - Asus/Firefox, but polluted with ads on my Samsung phone. Edited November 10, 2025 by cwericb
Santayana Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 I also am finding the site almost unusable on my phone (Firefox on iPhone). Desktop has plenty of ads but they are not so intrusive.
ourkid8 Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Hi @Parsad we used to get this large intrusive ad at the top of the screen and now it’s at the bottom. I assume your IT guy is playing around with positioning but it’s very intrusive. Please see the attached screenshot using safari.
adesigar Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Find the Berkshire Hathaway forum link in the screenshot.
backtothebeach Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I wonder how much @Parsad makes on ads per user (on users that visit a lot). I'd rather make a donation of that amount than put up with ads.
giulio Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Ads + tags have become more annoying in the last months for me as well, both on my samsung phone and mac computer. I think Parsad is already working on it, so thanks in advance!
