mananainvesting Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 I appreciate the previous discussions on $HTLD. I finally got to posting about it (link below). Let me know if you have any feedback. I am long and not advise. https://mananainvesting.substack.com/p/heartland-express-inc-nasdaq-htld

I think we are in a industrial recession similar to 2015 era but nobody is getting dinged yet. Graco showed that today with poor results. I think Velan will push right through due to the nuclear and LNG projects then get acquired by an industrial trying to boost the sales slump. I am aware I have a major bias here, I have a very soft spot in my heart for small industrials for some reason so I could be totally out of whack here. I like the concept. Need to do some DD on my end. What is your base case scenario if you look out a few years?

What is your base case scenario if you look out a few years? Well my hope is it gets caught up in the wave of Nuclear fomo and gets bid up outside of fundamentals thus delivering a really great return. Actual fundamentals gets me a slightly better valuation than the attempted acquisition a few years out. Say in the range of 14-17 a share. When the company was involved in getting acquired last time there was a lot of interest.
John Hjorth Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 (edited) Small initial starter position in JYSK.CPH [Jyske Bank A/S] at DKK 486.20 today. It dropped 9% today on a 2024Q3 report that was as about as expected, and on the introduction of a New Strategy, which I read as basically 'more of the same, as usual', while all analysts and commentators are screaming 'booh-booh', combined with a <thumb down>. P/B~ 0.68, P/E ~5.4, ROE ~ 13.5%, ROTCE ~ 14.8%, ongoing dividends and share buybacks, the bank running without any major challenges for now. Edited October 29, 2024 by John Hjorth
mananainvesting Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Bought some $T (ATT) (2 days ago). The company has been focused solely on reducing debt/leverage over the last 2 years. 2024 forecasted FCF $17-$18B, Mcap = ~$160B. Dividend Yield = ~5%. I am long, not advise.
frommi Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) bought even more STO:EVO and a little more CABO Edited October 30, 2024 by frommi

Ross812 Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Well I have a standing buy order for 1500 shares of FRPH at $29. IBKR filled 500. The other 1000 are on order through Fido. I guess you get what you pay for!
Charlie Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 I bought some Berkshire b shares. The statistical weak months September and October are over. The election is coming to the end and there could be a rally, because of ending of uncertainty. Results are coming at Saturday and I am betting on that the gift will still keep giving.

Saluki Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Picked up a few shares of VRRM and POWWP. VRRM seems to be trading down way too much on a good quarter because of weakness in their parking business. POWWP is trading at ~$19 and it's a $25 cumulative preferred for a company with terrible management but no net debt, so I haven't been able to figure out the discount.

Saluki Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 A resting limit order got hit on Friday, so I have some more JOE from that and a little more this morning. Very small adds to some starter positions that I am dollar cost averaging into a little each day (RTO, ENPH, VRRM, CROX and DHT).
coffeecaninvestor Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Sold NSRGY to free up funds to buy more JNJ and RTO. Just a little more optimistic on JNJ over Nestle after reading the Q's. The new CEO seems fine, but I think JNJ has a good pipeline, and an easier path to growth.
