Malmqky Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 (edited) UNTC 10% of market cap in cash 25% dividend yield, clean balance sheet. 8ish years of production left. Company has profitable assets it’s liquidating conservatively worth $600m+ vs $400m market cap. Not including the recently sold land, which will be another $5.50 per share in cash. treasurehunt Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 More TCEHY. I have increased my position 50% in the last month. I think I am done for now, unless the stock drops below $30 with no significant deterioration in the business.

PACB specifically dropped 18% yesterday on some preliminary earnings that seemed fine to me, full results will be reported tomorrow. I believe this was an overreaction and want to capitalize on this. Strange that Oxford Nanopore was also lower on news so far as I can tell but Illumina was largely unchanged or higher even.

Woah, sounds interesting. Was the recency drop from $65 to $41/share due to some dividend payments or capital returns? edit: ok I’ve found the thread for this name. Looks like it was a big special dividend. Edited January 11, 2024 by Stuart D

WFF Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Bought some OXY, am guessing Berkshire will buy and push it back up. Might as well make a few bucks from Mr. Market’s emotion.
cash_incinerator Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Yumc starter. Curious if anyone understands a bear case outside of general negative sentiment on china. Big picture future seems very clear and bullish to me though.
valueventures Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 IWGFF, looking to benefit from transition to capital-light model
Spekulatius Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Bought more $HUM on the UNH induced scare this morning.
Grafter Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Bought some abg after the recent drop. But then I trade in and out of it due to the violatity.

Cod Liver Oil Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Adding to eBay then going to the gym to decide how to size it. Seems unreasonably cheap at 40. 1

Spekulatius Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Adding to $JCI here (CEO left - stock down ~6%)

Clearly a negative but I think for an industrial, the CFO is not as critical than for a bank for example. So, I am upping my position a bit. Sometimes, the leadership changes are harbinger of bad news (earnings misses etc. ) to come, so one should be aware of the risk.
Saluki Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Small adds to CPNG, OXY and BTI. Trimmed a little STNG and HHH to free up the cash.

I see some negative articles about North Korea saber rattling and China, but nothing specific to CPNG that would justify this. I'm still adding in very small bites. I have a medium position and I had planned just to sit on it for another year, but sometimes I see the price drop on a stock and I feel like I'm watching my girlfriend at a shoe sale.
