And whether you like it or not, a large portion of the American public agree with me. I've explained before that I basically thought Trump was a buffoon when he announced his candidacy - and it took me well over a year to change my mind. That's why we have extended campaigns and primaries. So while you were high school I made up my mind. In no way am I disappointed. And he has grown tremendously as a leader of men. Trump is an American hero whether you like it or no. An equal amount disagree with you...he is slightly less of a buffoon than 4 years ago...he's a hero because he serves, but not a hero because of how he is quietly or actually openly making money off his service. Cheers!

Then there's Jan 6th & stuff.

Anyone who likes this man has done a great job at fooling themselves. The book also talks about how Mitt Romney led a Republican coalition trying to stop him during the 2016 primary election. It basically makes me feel like the current Republican party is a gross abomination of its formal self. McCain and Romney were good men. Trump however is a piece of shit. The Republican Party of the recent past were bungling loose cannons who lied to get us in the Iraq war debacle. These overconfident, irresponsible neocons caused me to vote for Kerry, Obama twice, Hillary, and Biden. Sorry I couldn’t vote for Harris (too far to the left, temperament not suited for the job, not vetted through primary process). I have never voted for Trump (didn’t cast a presidential ballot last year), as I don’t think his temperament is fit for the job. Having said that, short of his ridiculous tariff policy implementation and the looming fiscal danger ( I know no small things), I’m in favor of much of his agenda. Like W’s administration turned me away from the Republicans, Biden’s turned me away from the Dems. Energy secretary Jennifer Granholm saying the military fleet could be all electric by 2030 is a nonstarter. How can anyone think we are not better off with Chris Wright? Who could think we would be better off with the border completely undefended? I was hoping Biden was going to be the adult in the room as he assured us in the 2020 campaign, but he caved to the left. The entire issue is rather simple IMO: Used to be that all the kooks and crazies of the world were on the right. Today they are on the left. The sooner the Democrats recognize this and don't run politicians like Joe Mancin and likely Fetterman out of politics, the quicker they will return to some degree of respectability. Otherwise, Trump and MAGA will reign supreme. In the mean time, all the young people who buy into socialism and left wing nonsense will grow up, start paying their share of taxes and realize that someone has to pay for their existence.

That is probably one of the dumbest, insulting statements ever made. John McCain had more balls than half of all Trump supporters put together. Please educate yourself before making such statements. For your education .................... "McCain was taken prisoner of war on October 26, 1967. He was flying his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam when his A-4E Skyhawk was shot down by a missile over Hanoi.[39][40] McCain fractured both arms and a leg when he ejected from the aircraft,[41] and nearly drowned after he parachuted into Trúc Bạch Lake. Some North Vietnamese pulled him ashore, then others crushed his shoulder with a rifle butt and bayoneted him.[39] McCain was then transported to Hanoi's main Hỏa Lò Prison, nicknamed the "Hanoi Hilton".[40] Although McCain was seriously wounded and injured, his captors refused to treat him. They beat and interrogated him and he was given medical care only when the North Vietnamese discovered that his father was an admiral.[42] His status as a prisoner of war (POW) made the front pages of major American newspapers.[43][44] McCain spent six weeks in the hospital, where he received marginal care. He had lost 50 pounds (23 kg), he was in a chest cast, and his gray hair had turned white.[39] McCain was sent to a different camp on the outskirts of Hanoi.[45] In December 1967, McCain was placed in a cell with two other Americans, who did not expect him to live more than a week.[46] In March 1968, McCain was placed in solitary confinement, where he remained for two years.[47] In mid-1968, his father John S. McCain Jr. was named commander of all U.S. forces in the Vietnam theater, and the North Vietnamese offered McCain early release[48] because they wanted to appear merciful for propaganda purposes,[49] and also to show other POWs that elite prisoners were willing to be treated preferentially.[48] McCain refused repatriation unless every man taken in before him was also released. Such early release was prohibited by the POWs' interpretation of the military Code of Conduct, which states in Article III: "I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy."[50] To prevent the enemy from using prisoners for propaganda, officers were to agree to be released in the order in which they were captured.[39] Beginning in August 1968, McCain was subjected to severe torture.[51] He was bound and beaten every two hours, and he was suffering from heat exhaustion and dysentery.[39][51] Further injuries brought McCain to "the point of suicide", but his preparations were interrupted by guards. Eventually, McCain made an anti-U.S. propaganda "confession".[39] He had always felt that his statement was dishonorable, but as he later wrote: "I had learned what we all learned over there: every man has his breaking point. I had reached mine."[52][53] Many U.S. POWs were tortured and maltreated to extract "confessions" and propaganda statements;[54] virtually all eventually yielded something.[55] McCain received two to three beatings weekly because of his continued refusal to sign additional statements.[56] McCain refused to meet various anti-war groups seeking peace in Hanoi, wanting to give neither them nor the North Vietnamese a propaganda victory.[57] From late 1969, treatment of McCain and many of the other POWs became more tolerable,[58] while McCain continued to resist the camp authorities.[59] McCain and other prisoners cheered the U.S. "Christmas Bombing" campaign of December 1972, viewing it as a forceful measure to push North Vietnam to terms.[53][60] McCain was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for five and a half years, until his release on March 14, 1973, along with 108 other prisoners of war.[61] His wartime injuries left him permanently incapable of raising his arms above his head. Blake Hampton Posted June 17, 2025 Posted June 17, 2025 (edited) Good article in the Journal about government debt: WSJ: How the U.S. Government Borrows to Fund Its Massive Budget Shortfall "In fact, the share of Treasurys held by foreign investors—including both public and private-sector buyers—has been declining for years." "Hedge funds, counted as “households” in Fed records, have helped pick up the slack. But they are seen as a less stable source of funding because they typically buy Treasurys using large amounts of borrowed money. That means they occasionally dump bonds during times of market stress, making those situations even worse." Edited June 17, 2025 by Blake Hampton
