Going from a bartender to living in a $6k a month townhome, wearing designer clothing, attending the Met Gala, flying private jets, etc….yea not benefitting from “public service”. She’s young, she’ll eventually have a Bidenesque real estate portfolio and net worth as well, likely having done nothing but “serve”….(while being totally inaccessible)

Like I said, we’re good with this and that type of abuse, but are outraged at others…doesn’t work like that. Ban ALL of it. You wanna “serve”, then serve and do so getting absolutely zero financial or lifestyle benefit out of it. Otherwise it’s not serving.

I have no issue with any of them trading stocks (or anything else) as long as they disclose their trades in real time.  They ain't getting rich solely on their salaries.  As for AOC, if she's still worth less than $50k she's dumber than I thought.

Actually, the reason she gives for her low net worth is that she has to keep an apartment in Washington as well as New York, and still has outstanding student loans.  She's getting invites, probably flying on other's private jets (boyfriend is Cory Booker), but she's not really one of the ones milking money off her position.  Pelosi would have been a much better example!  Cheers!

Serving as a public official isn't easy.  The scrutiny, demands, threats, reputational risk, legal risk, work hours, responsibilities...and for pay generally much less than the private sector!  Yeah, you get a sweet ass pension and benefits, you build a massive network of affluent/influential people, and you may get rich later on through speaking engagements and books, but it is pretty much a thankless endeavor.  No one is going to bang pots and pans at 7pm to celebrate you during a Pandemic like they were doing for first responders, doctors, nurses, etc.  Most will tell you that you are a piece of shit and wish you were dead!  So, if they get a few perks, even Trump, I'm ok with that.  Open graft like shilling for NFT's, crypto, insider trading, money for access...yeah, all that stuff should be illegal.  Cheers!
