If they are set back 10 years in their nuclear missile goals - it's well worth. Now they get to deal with Israel with their incredible human intelligence. The IDF has proved capable of taking out any leader at any time. They can rebuild, all the time with a gun pointed at their head and a smart bomb pointed at their homes. Israel are wonderful at fighting unarmed woman and children but when it comes to fighting actual men - they struggle! The day US stops supporting Israel will be a very bad day for the country. Maybe, just maybe if they learn to start playing nice with their neighbours things would change.
Parsad Posted April 1 Posted April 1 1 hour ago, ourkid8 said: Thats part of their original terms, they are not negotiating. Iran never wanted war, they are defending themselves as per the UN article 51. Please refer to @Viking post, the only thing I believe he missed was elimination of sanctions as well. I give up. You guys are right! This is a waste of time...I'm going back to focus on making money! "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do sir?" Cheers!

Didn't this whole damn thing start because women and children were killed on October 7? Unarmed women and 36 children, amongst all the men also killed? Your first sentence above was incredibly ignorant!

I am hoping for an end to the war as well, I have allocated a good amount of my cash so patiently waiting for a catalyst!

Israel propaganda wants you to believe everything started Oct 7th. - anyone who understands history knows that’s not the case. I won’t be getting into that debate here and I’ll stop with this topic.

I won’t be getting into that debate here and I’ll stop with this topic. History runs both ways...Israel is guilty of many things, but so are the cohort of countries and organizations that have been trying to wipe Israel out for the last 80 years. The Iranian regime running the country for the last 40 years has been the primary source funding state-sponsored terrorist activity in the Middle East and around the world. This is not even debatable and has nothing to do with propaganda. Again, don't let the facts stand in your way! Cheers!

ICUMD Posted April 1 Posted April 1 What a TACO mess. Sure, targets destroyed in Iran, but likely have vast armament underground. Replacement leadership in Iran will likely be more militant. They still have enriched Uranium. Iran retains Hormuz control and will toll to extract reparations to the country. Oil prices will remain high. Inflation a risk. Likely their resolve and justification to arm and fight increased ten fold. I'll leave it to the experts like Hegseth and Trump to explain the situation better than I can. Stock market cues now prompting them to exit stage left.

Hektor Posted April 1 Posted April 1 TACO or no TACO, Trump reads the pulse of the people better than any other politician operating today, in my opinion. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/04/01/iran-war-polls-ground-troops/ Americans have little appetite for sending U.S. troops to Iran, polls show Most want the war to end quickly, and opposition has hardened since it began, posing political dangers for the president and his party as the midterms approach.

Oh you mean sending goatee’d men with beer bellies into women’s bathrooms and locker rooms wasn’t something in sync with the pulse of the people?
flesh Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I was thinking how this is all a black box as we don't and likely won't have all the info forever of for some time. One idea I had was maybe Israel said they would nuke Iran if Iran got or was close to having a nuke. Maybe nuke the nuclear facilities, or worse. In other words, what would you do if Israel said that? If so, defanging Iran would be a good compromise. Just speculating, however I do believe there's precedent enough for war in general and the way history is miswritten that something like this is high not low probability. The high representing all such possibilities in aggregate.

The average voter is unclear why we had to do this, for what reason exactly and why exactly did it have to be now? Where was the imminent threat? Nobody bothered to explain to them - to build the case. In failing to prepare the American people Trump did something else arguably worse IMO - he shrunk his own strategic optionality. You think Iran cant read Fox News polls showing deeply negative views on our engagement there? Think that helps or hinders our objectives? Instead of what I said above - you have Rubio now dropping explainer videos to the public a month AFTER the conflict has started and AFTER $4 gas hits the pumps. This is not the way you run a political railroad regardless of anyone's thoughts on the justification for or the success of the military campaign/objectives.

This is not the way you run a political railroad regardless of anyone's thoughts on the justification for or the success of the military campaign/objectives. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. I have never said that the Iran war was a political "winner", in fact, I said a few times - it is not - and was done out of courage & necessity, not to garner votes. It's been a very risky endeavor politically. Americans will be delighted that we wind down the campaign - and certainly will very minimal casualties given the magnitude of success.
changegonnacome Posted April 1 Posted April 1 3 minutes ago, cubsfan said: I have never said that the Iran war was a political "winner", in fact, I said a few times And I'm saying its could have been at least politically neutral re:midterms.....but Trump didn't bother to build the case...frankly its because I'm not sure he cares that much what happens to the Republican agenda in one year, two or five years time....the GOP is fundamentally a host party for his own I guess you might call it ego trip. So in that respect I'm not surprised he didnt do any groundwork to prep the American people because he kind of doesn't care what happens at the midterms, he knows its lost (even before Iran).
