  1. Nice to see the war hopefully wrapping up. Enjoying my portfolio gains this year. This will also allow Trump to focus on more important tasks at hand. So how's that ballroom coming along??!
  2. I had over 6% yield, but that drops as share prices rise. My portfolio of cdn banks remains a wonderful cash flow machine.
  3. Ill bet USA is asking this very question regarding their bases in the middle east!
  4. Kushners plan to redevelop Gaza. Through 'Affinity Partners' which he controls. Billions of dollars on the line for him. Use tax payer money to destroy and kill. Rebuild profits line private pockets. Trump and his legacy always win. Unbelievable. https://g.co/gemini/share/7a9d3a2600d9
  5. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/4/15/north-korea-boosting-ability-to-make-nuclear-arms-iaea Where is Trump's stand on North Korea? Why only focus on Iran, if nukes are the issue?
  6. @Maverick47 This a war being fought by extremists. Trump and Netanyahu vs Iran. There is no winning this. Suffering - physical, economic extends far beyond these countries. There is no middle ground for negotiation until one of these leaders fall. Trump is most at risk due to the midterms. I doubt he'll have the appetite for a ground invasion or carpet bombing at this point due to fear of American perception and loosing voting base.
  7. US midterms coming up. Iran is also playing the political game but refusing to settle.
  8. And then, Trump found himself in a 'straight jacket' ...
  9. Absolutely fake news! You anti Trump, Anti American terrorist sympathizer! Haha You entirely missed out the win of carpet bombing the very cities that make Persian carpets.
  10. One thing apparent in these times is you can't be weak and vulnerable. You can't 'Trust' in friendship. USA through Trump has attacked Venezuela and now Iran to achieve control of their oil reserves. He has repeatedly called Canada the 51 state. That's 3 out of the top 4 oil reserve nations. The very superpower that is supposed to be upholding law and order in the world is literally wielding their power for personal gain. Sorta like a cop that pulls you over and steals your car at gunpoint. Maybe he shoots you too. Literally everyone is rethinking their alliances. I'm sure all the Arab states are. They are also rethinking their military including Canada. When the leader of the 'free' world, partners with your worst enemy, then bombs 1500 sites in your country and then threatens the very existence of your civilization, only possible through dropping of a nuclear bomb on you. Which Trump can do unilaterally by the way... What would you do? Pretty sure most rationale people would say, I need nuclear armaments! Munger said to invert. Well, what would have happened if the IRGC did not have the military arsenal to fight back? Idk. Maybe check out Gaza or Lebanon for an idea. Two non nuclear countries btw.
  11. Seems like an intermission. Trump needs to win midterms. The 1 day war gamble didn't pay off. Israel still has expansionist plans. Everyone's chips are on the table. Trumps anhilistic aspirations and possibly nuclear options didn't sit well with many Americans nor Iran. Iran now has more reason than ever to develop a nuclear weapon, if only to repel future attacks. Nuclear powers don't get attacked.
  12. Is Trump going Nuclear? Threatening to wipe out a whole civilisation tonight. Then tell us how he won during this historic moment? Apparently he can unilaterally launch a nuclear hit without any oversight. Speaking about terror, Trump terrifies me.
  13. Outstanding interview, helped greatly with my understanding of the war, Trump's personality and potential economic implications. https://youtu.be/PUO51DoSEqk?si=CMxusVR3Vf5h628M
  14. Terrorism is any killing in the name of politics and ideology. I condemn all of it, regardless of the originating country or group.
  15. @ourkid8 I agree. Saddened to see so much destruction and death at the hands of questionable leadership. No doubt that Iranian leadership has been oppressive to its people. However, the justification for the US/Israeli initiated unprovoked war is incoherent with no clear goals. Further, they are in complete disregard of international law. Logically, this makes them the terrorists in this conflict. Iran is entitled to defend itself. In fact, one could argue it's because Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons that they were attacked. Their armaments were clearly underestimated. The only logical conclusion is that Israel seeks absolute control and territorial expansion in the Middle East. This would explain the wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. It's expansionism under various other excuses. Since there is refusal to acknowledge the true goals of this war, there is no diplomatic compromise I can see in the near term.
  16. What a TACO mess. Sure, targets destroyed in Iran, but likely have vast armament underground. Replacement leadership in Iran will likely be more militant. They still have enriched Uranium. Iran retains Hormuz control and will toll to extract reparations to the country. Oil prices will remain high. Inflation a risk. Likely their resolve and justification to arm and fight increased ten fold. I'll leave it to the experts like Hegseth and Trump to explain the situation better than I can. Stock market cues now prompting them to exit stage left.
  17. War = expansionism. Israel is expanding into Lebanon and Iran. Next - Turkey? Syria? Jordan? There is no off ramp or negociation, since there was no justification for the war in the first place. The only way to maybe stop it is for US citizens to protest en masse.
  18. @valueventures I was looking hard at Propel. Seems to be executing well with a new banking license in Puerto Rico, licensing their AI models to lenders and growth rate. My major concern is the moat for propel There is a low barrier to entry, so they may be facing increased competition. Go Easy seems to have a highly dominant position in Canada with physical locations. Harder to replicate. For me, I like dividends and moat at attractive valuations, so GSY > Propel.
  19. @BenT I used to have about half that Fairfax India Position. Sold it after years of underperformance. I think the value is there somewhere, but ultimately couldn't see the proper pathway to it being realized. Perhaps its just around the corner! OTOH, that Goeasy position is one I hold and I think has exceptional potential.
  20. Personally, I've simplified my understanding of Bitcoin as any other 'asset holding'. Similar to a baseball trading card, painting or gold. It has no intrinsic value just like fiat currency. For something to have intrinsic value, it needs to generate cash flow. Perceived value is based on supply and demand. Value is in the eyes of the beholder. In today's world, a story seems to confer tremendous perceived value. The more people you convince of that story, the more perceived value you can derive. There is explosive money that trades hands based on these stories. I think Musk is an tremendous example of that story telling. His companies are built on it. So are the early billionaire investors in Bitcoin. Burry doesn't believe the Bitcoin story. He is not incorrect and many people are in his camp including myself. Problems arise when the story falls apart and believers turn into non believers. Burry is simply pointing out this risk. https://youtu.be/BoJGZM4I62k?si=8eUZQcRiwmsyI-S-
  21. My wife is Canadian and I'm East Indian, second generation. 2 kids, both IVF. My 3 yo daughter is an awesome blend of light brown complexion, dark brown hair and brown eyes. Very sharp for her age. My 6 mo old boy, well he's very white with blue eyes and copper colored hair. I feel like I stole him when I hold him. Genetics is funny that way. So which one is white and which one is East Indian? Does it matter?
  22. Not sure people are OK with what he does, but there is no alternative. Trump has single handedly crushed DEI, abortion and freedom of speech. Even late night satire is threatened! You're right, no negotiation, no discussion. Just action. Its very efficient but seems to fly in the face of democracy. Trump sees multiple wars to be fought even where there is peace.
  23. Upcoming scheduling for 2026: 1. Change Greenland to Orangeland (or possibly Trumpland) Annexation to occur likely this year and probably in the next few months. 2. Canada - 51 state or more probably a territory. I think Trump will highly pressure Carney for this. Don't think he will use military force, but anything is possible these days.
  24. Curious as to why you 'grew' out of the dividend strategy? Dividend yielders are about 2/3 my portfolio, 1/3 is Googl with a bite of Apple.
  25. @Luke thats 100% the key.
