Anyone up for suggesting to Trump a few kybella treatments?  Those jowls...damn they are huge, sort of wrapping around towards his neck these days as he rapidly slumps more forward.  Those heel lifts and shoulder pads once took care of hiding the fatty fluff; ain't working much these days.

Kind of makes me wish back in time for the Biden embalmed look.

Mike [ @cubsfan ],

Are you above sarcastic, or not?

Pretty simple and basic question from me, which I hereby kindly ask you to reply on - so I can read and think about your thoughts - so to say - on your par - straight out.

So, please drop the sarcasm here by replying!!

Hey John - if you are equating Trump, Maduro and Putin as "equally bad" - well, all I can do is laugh at the ridiculous comparison.

You should wish to have such a courageous leader in Europe to save your continent from the sad destruction it is facing.

I, for one, am delighted to have a great leader that will not tolerate the hundreds of thousands of drug deaths America has suffered from the likes of Mexico, Venezuela and China.

No sarcasm intended.

So I'll take that as a "No".  Pesky details; they tend to get in the way of a narrative.  At last  check countries like Greenland weren't conducting narco-terrorism operations against the US.

Canada was also not a major source of drugs and fentanyl into the U.S., but it didn't deter his broad narrative on how it was so!  Cheers!

LOL, have we used Canadian vessels as target practice or taken over your Country?  Show of hands if you really feel Canada is in jeopardy of being annexed and how exactly you think that might happen.  I'm intrigued.  Or is it just another convenient (tired) way to bash the President?

You know, I'm frankly not sure.  I saw the division and type of behavior that a Trump administration would have before he won his first term.  But he's gone far beyond what I thought he would do...not policy or enriching himself, but straddling the lines of bypassing the Constitution, due process, alienating allies, alienating partners, bailing on norms over 100 years old, threatening sovereign nations, retaliating against naysayers, critics, media and even his own administration and personnel.  I honestly don't know what he is capable of now and I cannot say with any certainty what he might do.  I've never felt that way about any U.S. administration in the last 45 years!  Cheers!

He's gone from branding buildings....to trying to brand history itself.....I almost feel sorry for him, I really do, as much as some might hate Trump I can assure you NOBODY hates Donald Trump more than Donald Trump hates himself.

This is what a true congenital narcissist looks like....as I've said above....his last two years in office are gonna be WILD on the international front for sure....a narcissist facing impending irrelevance while simultaneously staring down the barrel of his own mortality (the final irrelevance) is not going to let this last two years of relevance on Earth slip by quietly. That is not how someone with this pathology would act.

There will be endless Trump naming of things to come arts centres, classes of new battleship are just the start, I'm almost certain he'll find a way to get name/brand/signatures up on to the moon on NASA mission there in 2027..........the most dangerous though IMO will be his attempts to have his name/brand echo through history which will involve consequential acts.

Trump is indeed bringing manufacturing back to the USA.....Trump the narcissist is literally going to manufacture history from the Oval Office in his final few years and its gonna be wild!

I think Canada is in jeopardy. I'd give it a 2% chance.  I think it'd happen roughly the same way that it happened with VZ--yelling about drugs and socialism, with the added justification that it is necessary for American defence. And, because Trump would be doing it, I'd expect some people on COBAF to say it was justified.

At this point, it's pretty clear how this stuff works to anyone who cares to think.

Well, his supporters believe there is a common theme to all his actions.  His detractors clearly don't (or don't like the theme).  Its not my job to lay it out for anyone and we will see whether, and/or to what extent this 4-year term is a success.  That said, reducing dangerous Venezuelan "areapas" that are bad for the waistline from our soil is a worthwhile goal.  One can argue about the means from now to whenever but it seems to me there is ample Panamanian precedent for this operation.

Of course his supporters believe in his actions...more than half are cultists!  They no longer see folly in their leader or that any of his decisions might be erroneous.  The irony is that going into Venezuela is a globalist approach...not nationalistic like his supporters expected...but again ignore it.  It's bizarre that someone like MTG recognizes this and is speaking up!  The world is upside down now...kind of like Stranger Things!  And Trump may be Vecna!  Cheers!

Nah, a lot of assumptions there in "going into Venezuela".  No worries, us so-called cultists get it and fully grasp how desperate is the "cult" stereotype.  But as another poster alluded to earlier with regard to Europe, wishing and hoping and praying for better outcomes is not an option.  Neither is complaining.

I hope I'm a 100% wrong and he concerns himself with enriching himself and his family in his final few years in the WH.......no doubt Eric and Don are standing up a wildcat SPAC drilling company as we type or TMTG is about to merge with one.......but money isnt enough for an ageing narcissist like Donny.....some kind of multigenerational fame or infamy (if fame isn't an option) is what he'll shoot for in his last couple of years in office which means highly consequential acts. Again hope I'm way off the mark!

As I've written before, Trump's supporters and his cult have crazy exaggerated belief of his potential and his actual successes.  Trumps haters also have crazy exaggerated belief in his potential and actual successes.

Trump is a survivor, he crawls out with a paycheck while those who take the ride with him deal with what's left.  He has no friends nor is he loyal to anyone.  It is quite exciting that we have a forum with Buffett and Watsa's companies names on it with a huge group of Trump culters.  INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@dealraker I think the mistake you're making is lumping all Trump supporters into what you call a cult.  As I have said repeatedly, you can support the majority of his polices and be far from cult-like.  IMO, there are far more crazies on the opposing side.

@LC,

Have you already run both the bar and the wine cellar totally dry and out of stock the place where you are, by now, in Chamonix, France? - Or just still no snow really there?

- Forget about CofB&F communication! - Personal priorities always come first, and need your attention! 😆

100%…..your standard Republican voter is not a cultist….the reality is that Donald’s genius was to engage a group heretofore disengaged voters and never voted to add to the GOP vote…his control over the whole GOP comes from their knowledge that without this incremental Trump personality ‘cult’ voter the GOP just wouldn’t have had the numbers to make the WH viable in 2016, 2020 & 2024.

@73 Reds is 100% right…..a lazy democrat just see’s Trump cult supporters on the other side ….the reality is the cultists are a very small tribe within that….but they’ve given Trump a huge amount of leverage over the GOP as a whole.

Hi John,

There has been no snow (tragedy) but the sun has been softening what is available, so we are making due!

We traversed 3 bars this evening, girlfriend is napping (passed out). I however am now at the hotel bar, indulging in the region's Genepy with a northern German man and his wife, we were talking about insurance (his profession). Brought up some of Viking's Fairfax posts and took a quick second to check the politics thread (bad habit!!).

Note: it did take me a full 90 seconds to proofread this post! Cheers!!!

Interestingly Reds using US military might on these one-day-wonders is something that surely gains the umphh of basic macho supporters and generally Cubs is out-and-about with "another problem solved."  But of course Trump's one day wonders from tariffs to whatever aren't problem solvers or finished business of any kind.  We're not seeing the "he's fixed everything...so now let's fix the world" type posts.

I think slowly but surely Trump's losing some firepower with the cultists, some may even have common sense enough to to realize that the major problems we face are being short changed as to anyone attention in political life  while some serious distraction...and serious problems for the future...and actually being added to the equation.

We'll be years down the road before any outcome of this is revealed.  Anything else is just like all the other worthless summary views of all the other Trump shenanigans.

Trump's very likely not likely to live too much longer but the issues he's delivered will.  You of course think that he's delivered great things, I think you are simply a very intelligent man led astray by the man with influence, the art of persuasion.

Truly a historic day, especially here on CoFB,

whereby our leftist nut-bags lament the capture of a murderous narco terrorist.

Well, what happened in VZ today was for XOM. They had to move out of VZ in 2007, so they move ops to Guyana and to their surprise find rich oil reserves there in 2015. Now Maduro starts claiming Guyana's oil as his and the whole thing is a shitshow. Maduro then doubles down and deploys military in 2024 on the Guyana border in plans to sabotage XOM's extraction of it.

Rubio in March of 2025 warns that if Maduro plans to use military then things will escalate. Our boy Rex Tillerson is the CEO of XOM who resigns a year before Trump gets elected and becomes the secretary of state during first term. Well, well, well.

I have talked to a few folks from VZ. Most of them are happy, this was an inside job, his VP now became the puppet president. Two things can be true, Maduro is a piece of shit who ruined a beautiful country but at the same time I would be wary of Manifest Destiny warriors who have vested interests not in the people but resources.
