All these posts arguing about tariffs and not a single post about Kendrick winning all his categories at the Grammys sporting a Canadian Tuxedo!  A rough weekend for Canada

The title and chorus of this song is a twist on a vulgar expression often used in Brasil to express anger, and occasionally surprise, "puta que pariu". Caralho is actually more common for shock and amazement. Anyway, I hear a lot of talk about PAX and it reminded me of this song. Not a commentary on the investment idea, which is way beyond my ken. Good song. Nice beats and bass, and the lyrics are sharp as you'd expect from a guy named O Pensador.

They must have played some misinformation. They are in my Apple Music  Library and I follow them on the bird app for concert updates. Never could make it work to see them Live unfortunately.

After trying to participate in the DIS thread, I turned to my girl Tay Tay.  She says it better than I ever could.  This song is poppy as hell, but it's pretty good (and kind of funny). 😆  The Miss Americana documentary on Netflix is really good too.  Watching her go through the creative process of writing a song is pretty incredible.  Hope you all have a great day!

Last night i listened to Travelling Wilburys Volume 1 all the way through. What a great record. Dylan's lyrics just shine, especially on "Tweeter and the Monkey Man". Orbison's vocals are top notch. I wonder what would have been had Roy not passed away after Volume 1 and before Volume 3.

I recently found this first video and was blown away.  Why did I not know electric guitar versions of classical pieces was a thing?   I then searched for others and found the other videos.

I've been going down the Ren rabbit hole the last few days.  If you've never heard of him he's not really easy to categorize.  He has a lot of rap songs which I haven't been able to get into much (not my type of thing), but he has a some songs where he just plays the guitar and sings, live in one full take with just him and his guitar and a microphone, no overdubbing or autotune. The guy is talented as hell.

"Hi Ren" was the first song/video I ran across and it struck me as the most original thing I've heard and seen in a long time.  Not just the music and singing, but the lyrics/storytelling, videography, and even his acting is genius.

Hi Ren:

Here are few duets he sings with someone else I've never heard of (Chinchilla).  The first one is amazing.

How to be me:

Chalk Outlines:

Here's another one that, like Hi Ren is hard to characterize, more theater than traditional song.  Not something you would put on your playlist and listen to in your car probably, but an amazing video, performance, and storytelling.

The Tale of Jenny & Screech:

This song he wrote about a friend that killed himself when he was young:

Su!cide:

And here a few really original re-makes/covers:

Back on 74/Message In A Bottle:

I Shot the Sheriff:

EDIT:  How could I post about Ren to an investment board and forget this one:

Money Game:

RIP Brian,

He was such a genius that Paul McCartney said that Sgt. Pepper would never have been made had The Beatles not listened to Pet Sounds.  Cheers!

Brian did Pet sounds on his own with a group of studio musicians, The Wrecking Crew. The other Beach Boys then came in and added the voices. Glen Campbell was a member of the Wrecking Crew. He was a great studio guitarist.
