Paarslaars Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) Traded a small part of my MSTR position (which is now dominating my portfolio) for some CPNG calls today. Edited November 6 by Paarslaars

Red Lion Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I trimmed some APO and OWL in my 401k. These are two of my favorite positions, and my two biggest positions even after being trimmed. Used the money to build JOE up to a 15% position in the 401k.
Saluki Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I bought a couple of LEAPs on CPNG. Added a little PM, which is down on no news for some reason. Trimmed some GOOGL on the pop this morning to keep at it the weighting that I am comfortable with.

Sells off good on earnings and then takes time to recover in time for next earnings. For the past few months, I've been selling puts and buying calls monthly. I also have a core position here too and don't mind if I get shares put on me. 1
Sweet Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Caved and took a position in Google. Been looking at it for months. Wish I found religion last year but whatever. Still have my doubts about it of course.
collegeinvestor Posted November 6 Posted November 6 @dipod What strike and date did you buy? Went up a lot today...

ourkid8 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Sold Citi and BTI (Two smaller trading positions) and used the money + cash on hand to buy a core position in JOE.
Saluki Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I'm trying not to buy more until I sell off stuff, but I couldn't help myself and bought a couple more CPNG leaps since I didn't want to lay out cash for the common.

Saluki Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Bought a share of MELI to remind me to study it more. Also added a couple of CPNG LEAPs and a little of the common in my retirement account.
Paarslaars Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Added to my JD, PDD and BEKE leaps. Will probably add to Metaplanet in the morning, this sell off makes no sense. Shareholders want the company to mimic MSTR and when they announce they will do so by issuing shares, the stock sells off for 40%!

Paarslaars Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) While that only impacts export to.US, we don't really know what Trump is going to do here. Let's not forget he is president because people want to see things cheaper again... Making all imports more expensive is not going to get him there. In any case I do believe the chinese goverment is not just going to roll over in that case. Edited November 9 by Paarslaars

The problem the Chinese have is that they export so much more than they import that anything they do to counter tariffs can’t reciprocate. If you look Mr Market seems to anticipate this scenario already, because agricultural good related business have not participated in the Trump rally at all. FWIW, Farmers vote for Trump, but it’s likely that his policies are not good for them at all. This is nothing new, same was the case in 2016. Edited November 9 by Spekulatius
