I think it's likely she committed mortgage fraud (but not yet proven). I think it's unlikely the president currently has authority to fire her for cause. And i think we all can agree on why this is happening (generalissimo trump want lower rates, will steamroll institutions/rule of law to get what he wants)

Discussion is certainly OK, but there still exists a point, where continued discussion reallly doesen't make any sense.

Why do formal charges have to be filed in order to constitute "cause" for termination?   There are a myriad of reasons why someone may or may not be charged with a crime they committed.  Particularly someone of prominence.  Likewise there are reasons other than committing a crime that may justify being terminated.

I would think  given the stakes regarding Fed Independence, the burden of proof should be pretty high. It’s not like an expendable CEO having sex with a subordinate. We’re talking central bank independence and US hegemony.

but I’ll concede that “for cause” doesn’t have to mean proven in court (from what I can gather). 
 

of course I don’t really think the “crime” is all that noteworthy and would assume that many members of congress on both sides have done the same thing accidentally and with intent. 
 

I’ve invested HELOC proceeds in stocks, in violation of the mortgage agreement, I’m sure many else have here. I don’t think my employer would fire for cause for this.

You're right and we have yet to see the precise "cause" even though many people are already jumping to conclusions, especially when those conclusions fit their narrative.  My guess is this will all play out in Court.

Anyone notice the abrupt shift in coverage of today’s shooting? Once news it was a tranny with TDS came in all of a sudden the coverage took a very different tone. Went from attacking Trump on the second amendment to the classic “here’s what we know so far”; of course with very little info about what is actually already known. Oddly similar in fact to how these same groups took hours to even admit Trump was shot when anyone with eyes could’ve seen it. Enemy of the people these outfits are.

So, it seems that there will be a reform of HB-1 visas, long overdue in my opinion.  If this eliminates HB-1 visas for low paid work, then which businesses will be impacted?  My guess would be hotel owners, not the brand names like IHG & MAR.  Any other ideas?  Thank you.

Surprised at you, Sanjeev.  As I've stated many times, in this country we have 2 choices in Presidential elections.  We don't get to choose our own personal candidates and tailor their personas to our own liking.   Why is this so hard to understand?   And if you followed the career of Kamala Harris closely, you'd recognize why an ax murderer could be preferable to her when it comes to making macro decisions.

Where did you get the idea that H1-B visas get used for hotel workers.

I got to the USA with and H1-B visa myself a long time ago and knows many H1-B visa holders and more than half have a PhD

and all have a masters equivalent.

 

The min requirement for H1-B are bachelors degree and min $60k salary as well

as specialized knowledge and other things.

 

The program used for hotel workers is the investor via (EB-5) where mostly Asian folks purchase a hotel (~800k min investment) and then pull in family members to work the hotel. Thats why so many Indians  ended up

owning hotels, motels and gas stations , I think. They are also hard working and good operators.

 

Where do folks get their information from. All it takes is a 10min visit to USCIS.GOV to figure this out.

this represents the continuation and acceleration of a trend already in place. Carjackings were coming down from 2023's absolute insanity (june 2025 was 75% lower than June 2023 which predates the imposition of "martial law"). you have to look at it seasonally since most of the carjackers are kids and crime generally is higher when school's out. 

 

i think the capital of the united states should have less crime. I don't like martial law and frankly fear that all the homeless are being pushed out to maryland where they'll be...embraced...so i have mixed feelings about it all but DC was a  global embarrassment. 

 

my neighbors and fellow limousine liberals are and were delusional about this. it was a huge issue. trump is coming in after improvement off of an incredibly low base.
