Iranian tanker fills with Iranian oil and exits the SOH (toll free). Immediately after which the ship is sold to a US buyer (via a sale and repurchase), and the cargo sold to a US buyer (treasury) ... to make good on a shorted futures contract . Wave nicely to all the pretty sailors ... as you now sail by as a US ship and cargo . Drop the cargo, repurchase the ship, re flag it as a neutral, and freely help yourself to freight rates everywhere outside of the Gulf. Deliver US, CAD and VZ oil to both China and India Even an Ari Onassis would be proud of this SD Soon oil tankers with cargo on Craigslist, Ebayt? [Sure, we're with certainty - guarantied! - a legit business!, -just as white as snow!]
ICUMD Posted April 12 Posted April 12 @Maverick47 This a war being fought by extremists. Trump and Netanyahu vs Iran. There is no winning this. Suffering - physical, economic extends far beyond these countries. There is no middle ground for negotiation until one of these leaders fall. Trump is most at risk due to the midterms. I doubt he'll have the appetite for a ground invasion or carpet bombing at this point due to fear of American perception and loosing voting base.

Marco Van Basten Posted April 12 Posted April 12 4 hours ago, ourkid8 said: Iran has every right to support the Axis of Resistance — Hezbollah, Hamas, and others — fighting illegal Israeli occupation, settlements, blockades, and decades of aggression against Palestinians and Lebanese. That's not 'terrorism,' that's legitimate resistance, similar to how the US arms, funds, and uses Israel as its forward military outpost in the region. Iran didn't plan or execute October 7 — Hamas did, after years of provocation. Iran has repeatedly said it wasn't involved. Supporting groups defending their land isn't the same as ordering civilian killings. Fast forward: Three years later, the US and Israel launched massive unprovoked strikes on Iran on Feb 28, 2026 — assassinating the Supreme Leader, hitting nuclear sites, military, and civilian areas in a clear regime-change operation. Iran responded by targeting US bases hosted in Gulf countries, as it had warned for years. Self-defense under international law. No one has 'zero responsibility,' but let's not flip the script: the root is Israeli expansionism and US interventionism. Iran defends its sovereignty and supports those resisting occupation — just as the US does for its own allies. The real 'screw loose' move was starting a direct war on a major regional power expecting it wouldn't fight back. Iran has been at war with the US since 1979, and we just began punching back. Iran has been an expansionary power and a settler colonial empire for 2500 years.

With 29% of the votes in, the opposition party is projected to win 132 of 199 seats, almost a supermajority. Election meddling from Trump, JD Vance and Nethanyahu hs consequence. Sometimes negative ones. They were also incredibly stupid to think that they actually would help Orban here. Hopefully Hungary can recover from 16 years of mismanagement. Their economy was doing pretty well at some point but the GFC hit them hard.
Hoodlum Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Even Trump realizes that oil prices will likely stay high through the mid-terms. Beyond the political consequences, what will the economy and stock market look like 6 months from now. https://fox2now.com/news/national/trump-says-price-of-oil-gas-could-be-down-the-same-or-maybe-a-little-bit-higher-by-the-midterms/amp/ “So, do you believe the price of oil and gas will be lower before the midterm elections?” Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo asked Trump in an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures.” “I hope so. I mean, I think so, it could be, it could be, or the same or maybe a little bit higher, but it should be around the same,” Trump responded.

Or how they get to find an “expert” whom will tell them exactly what they want to hear, and then go “see, this guy knows what he’s talking about!”? We hear this shit all day. And then if it’s shoe on the other foot, things like bias or credibility of sources all of a sudden matter….I’ll hold my breath til we hear about another “anonymous source” saying Trump said something…
