RichardGibbons Posted January 8 Posted January 8 One of the the most annoying but under-reported things with Trump will be that, because he's making so many stupid decisions that will leave America so much worse off, people will start to believe that there's no real alternative to the Democrats. There will be an entire cohort of voters particularly susceptible to supporting toxic economic policies and discriminatory social policies just because the alternative illustrated by Trump will be so unpalatable. America really needs a Mitt Romney right now.

Losers like Mitt are the exact reason why Donald Trump was able to capture the Republican Party. Mitt was only interested in losing nobly against dirty Democratic tactics. Trump drove out all the losers.
RichardGibbons Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Yeah, maybe. But it's still a pity that America's outcomes are going to be so awful as a result.

But for those of us who did vote for him, we are getting what we voted for (yes!). You may deem it a form of chaos but we knew what we were getting with Trump the second time around. What you see as an erosion of principles for me and others is re-establishing principles that were in danger of being lost. America is better coming from a position of strength. We can argue all day long about how we got there and what we need to do to remain there but under prior leadership that single-most important principle was failing fast. Trump has non-traditional methods and personal incentives, neither of which is a concern to me as long as he fulfills his campaign promises, which he has to date done more than any other elected official in my lifetime. He tackles issues, is not afraid to speak his mind and wins exceed losses. Want diplomacy? That is what diplomats are for. Trump is no diplomat and doesn't need to pretend to be one. He is, however an interesting study in pattern behavior, which people who support him are able to recognize better than others. Actually, I'm with you on this 73 Reds. I just get lost in excusing the stuff that doesn't pertain to achieving that agenda...Epstein files, not releasing tax returns, relationships and possible risks with classified information...it's this lack of transparency and accountability that I just can't keep ignoring. Cheers!

Shit - they couldn't even keep their President safe! LOL Got it so VZ at the same moment is an urgent threat but also not a threat. The cognitive dissonance is insane. They don’t have to attack the US if the US companies are in VZ getting that oil Mr smarty pants. If you are going to change VZ for the better just fucking commit to it and do it properly or you will just open up another can of worms.
UK Posted January 8 Posted January 8 4 hours ago, Luke said: kidnapped leading government representative FOR 12 years Nicolás Maduro terrorised Venezuela. He stole elections and, when people objected, his goons killed, raped or tortured them by suffocation with plastic bags. His comrades looted and mismanaged the economy so wantonly that GDP fell by 69%. A quarter of the population fled abroad. Both the economic collapse and the exodus have been worse than is typical during the bloodiest of civil wars. Mr Maduro was also an international menace: colluding with drug gangs, threatening oil-rich Guyana and propping up Cuba’s communist tyranny with cheap fuel. He supported Hizbullah, helped Iran evade sanctions and gave Russia and China a foothold across the water from Florida. https://archive.is/vAK0O

It's your war, not ours. But it is your war - the US was heavily involved in setting up Ukraine as an independent nation. How many billions have you spent there? Why not finish what you started? It is in the US interest to do so. There is a lot of speculation that the CIA was involved in the Maidan revolution.... Edited January 8 by Spooky

Spekulatius Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Well Iran has protests now too, similar to the 2022 one after the girl got beaten to death. Seems like this time it is economically motivated (currency dropped like a stone casing inflation) and then of course turned political. One of the good things about low oil prices is that all those jackass regimes like Iran, Russia and Venezuela live off oil and their income is now crumbling.

Parsad Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Yesterday was the anniversary of the Palisades fire. I would just like to thank President Trump for turning on the faucet that provided the floods of water to end the horrible fire! Now hopefully he can release to the media the flood of Epstein files sitting on Pam Bondi's desk in defiance of the federal court order to release them! Cheers!

Anyway, the market is going up. Who gives a shit what Trump does!
