Wrong mon ami...  Carl Hestie stated that he will be happy to pass tax increases on high earners, so did Andrew Stewart Cousins.  There was an article on Bloomberg this morning, stating that Hochul is planning a massive increase in corporate tax rate to pay for Mamdani's agenda.  She doesn't want to pass an individual tax increase before the election in 2026, but after that, you will get a tax increase.

But yea, @dealrakerI agree, I need to take my wife’s advice and get a real job. This, let financial assets grow thing as a profession leaves too much time for screwing around. I would try to take up Brookfield, but I’d need to recruit forensic accounting experts(although I know a few who’ve tried and given up), reformed salesmen of the highest levels, confidential informants from the FBIs white collar division, and probably a litany of others ranging from clergy to corner store operators. The ecosystem has gotten so big and complex that arguably it’s TBTF. Until the next trophy asset mall with 32% occupancy hands back the keys…or the next triple whammy green solar wind turbine nuclear project makes 2038 AFFO projections….but until then I guess we ll see!

Honestly, if you think carefully about it, @cwericb,

 

It's quite hard to argue aganist @Gregmals stance about not wasting time and mental energy on things out of our control. pulling the cheap 'TDS card', or should I call here call it  'the anti TDS card' to me seems a bit cheap.  It may in casu seem cynical, but it is certainly logical, by any measure, except, a part from, we're all citizens in some society, that need to function well, for the good of all of US citizens. It all boils down to personal opinions and judgements about the design of such. But in the US and everywhere else on the planet  it's needed to get to work.

 

Gregs [  @Gregmal ] wifey suggesting Greg [ @Gregmal ], to get a paid job is about the meanest and unfair card to pull at all a discussion with somebody like us. It's a totally under the belt argument, depiving any of us our self esteem and digninity.

Look man, I have no qualms about it. If one loves them some Brookfield, go for it. If I had full confidence a Ponzi scheme could run for a few decades and get me to the promised land, I’d totally get behind it. I have huge moral and ethic parameters in my day to day personal life. When it comes to financial situations, it’s just business. Mr Flatt is a modern day Walt Disney. He can surely envision and sell the dream. @dealraker and the Madoff comparison are actually fair; and I think anyone disagreeing is selling Madoff short because honestly, if it wasn’t for a one in a hundred year event, he d still be crushing it today.
