1)  I have no idea what you are talking about.

Here is an example: "There was no explanation, no warning. One minute, I was in an immigration office talking to an officer about my work visa, which had been approved months before and allowed me, a Canadian, to work in the US. The next, I was told to put my hands against the wall, and patted down like a criminal before being sent to an Ice detention center without the chance to talk to a lawyer."  https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/19/canadian-detained-us-immigration-jasmine-mooney

This is far from an isolated incident as I have personal knowledge of a similar incident.

2)  I think I know a few, but not certain, as I don't inquire. Very good people. 2 in fact returned to Mexico willingly. Which is great, since they are trying to obtain the proper visa stay, since they have relatives here. Good for them.

But while they are good people you would be quite comfortable to see them kicked out of the country because of something that may have occured years ago? I am not being critical here, but guess I would have more empathy because I don't see the advantage of getting rid of good people who broke a law perhaps years ago.

3) I see no problem at all demanding that Mexico/Canada stop illegals from entering the USA. 100,000 drug deaths a year are plenty. The rapists & child molesters & human traffickers have been an obvious problem. Feel free to take them off our hands.

Oh, that is interesting. Okay, so what have American border guards done about all the illegal guns and drugs coming into Canada from the US?  Do you stop and search all the cars and trucks leaving the US?

4) I thought you were all about immigration freedom? Make up your mind already.

Now I think you are making things up. What do you mean by "immigration freedom". We guard our borders as best we can from illegals. That, includes those crossing the US border into Canada. We have always worked jointly with the US in patrolling the the US/Canadian border but we have never assumed nor expected that the US be held responsible for stopping illegals crossing into Canada. We have always assumed that responsibility and I believe this is a universal concept.

As above, what has the United States done to stop the flow of drugs and weapons crossing the border into Canada? And, should Canada retaliate because the US has not stopped guns coming into Canada?

1) Sounds like an unfortunate incident/mistake. These things happen. Perhaps they thought she was a drug dealer since  one of her employers was a hemp dealer?

In Ottawa, I was detained for 2 hours with one of my friends since they thought we were drug dealers. Fortunately, I was not detained for 12 days.  I did not hold it against Canadian immigration officials - they are just doing their jobs.  If that is all you got - big deal. Maybe she should have sued them, but maybe they actually thought she was a drug dealer.

2) Oh, I have great sympathy for them. I have even more respect for them, as they are committed to entering legally. Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. 70% of the targeted illegals are criminals released into sanctuary cities, for the democratic politicians to confound ICE. If you happen to be around any of these guys and your are an illegal - you're a goner too. Self-deportation is a surefire way to increase your chances of coming back.

3) Give me a break already - how do you stop and search a car or illegals when they don't enter via a port of entry?   At port of entry, the US will do their search, and vice versa. You are not making any sense.

4) You should do anything your government feels is necessary. We will do the same. Once the human & drug trafficking dies down - it will likely go better for you.

I didn't lose my shit because Canadian immigration thought I was a drug dealer.

The onus was upon me to prove to THEM i was not BEFORE they would let me enter the country.

Charlie Kirk was shot today in Utah.

Shot in the chest it seems, maybe by a rifle, look pretty bad in video footage.  Hope / pray he’s alright but doesn’t look good.

He was shot in the neck by a high powered rifle.

Hate to be a pessimist but if that’s true I don’t know how you can survive that.

I don’t get how anyone with a heart can attempt to kill someone because they spoke hurty words.

The guy has two kids, it’s them I feel for the most.

He's in critical condition right now. I agree with your comments.

Charlie Kirk is a wonderful man and father.

Charlie Kirk is dead.

So I’m not even American, and I was never really into Charlie Kirk’s views or even followed him.

Even still, I have a terrible pit in my stomach for his wife, and his kids who will grow up without a father.  And it’s fuelling something else, a very deep rage.  Holy cow I’m angry.

When the left starting using terms like "hate speech", calling everyone who disagrees with them Nazis, and equating words with violence, what did you expect was going to start happening?

<sigh> I just broke my policy of avoiding this thread.

Three minors shot at Evergreen school in Colorado the same afternoon.  When asked about the suspect (one of the students) and if there were other weapons the Sheriff said "I honestly dont think he was old enough to drive"

There is no simmering down for people who gun others down.

I get the feeling. He will be arrested and probably was already living in a hell of his own making. All I can do is try to not be enraged by everything like everyone else.

This softly approach, how has that been working out for the US?

It’s not like people are getting angry over nothing.  There are a bunch of scum in our society who think they can do what they want including cold blooded murder.  What’s worse is there is a cohort of excuse makers for this behaviour.

Shoplift - nah don’t prosecute that.  Sure he only assaulted a few people - let him out for the 10th time.  Ah right - he’s murdered someone - he’s mentally ill and must be treated humanely.  All the excuse makers are facilitators.

The media - MSN, CNN - just look at some of the commentary tonight and over the past few days.  They are infiltrated by a bunch of race baiters.

I live in the UK but my kids and wife are American citizens and I don’t want my kids to ever live there.  It’s being ruined by the left who just keep creeping further and further left.

We see it in the UK too.  Centrist positions 25 years ago are now ‘far-right.  Fuck them.

+1 - Yup.   All the LEFT cares about is protecting illegal alien rapists, racists, gang members and human traffickers.  Do your best to keep it out of your country.

You have no idea who shot him yet.  Wasn't Kirk, along with MTG and other MAGA supporters asking for the release of more Epstein files until just a couple of days ago.

It could be some looney Dem or some looney GOP member...or someone with no real political affiliation and just plain crazy.

Rather than ranting and raving, try bringing peace and calm to the situation!

I know it wasn't you or any of the good people on this board.

Kirk was a stalwart in the conservative movement and the main reason POTUS won over so many college students.  The LEFT absolutely hates him. He has had many death threats.  This was a political assassination.  If I am wrong - you will get my apology.  This was not meant as a slam against you or anyone on this board.

The suspect is in custody. My bet is Antifa - we will see.

I agree. No one pays attention to those liars anyway. They all face downsizing because no one watches.
