My palate also. Put two shots in front of me, one from a $50 bottle and one from a $1,500 bottle, and I probably can tell they are different but not which one costs $1,500, LOL

Ah respect, as a Belgian we consider it very important to drink a beer from it's own proper glass!

I always have this one in house, works great in a stew as well!

 

Below is my favorite one, quite expensive to be honest but it's dark beer that has been aged on whiskey barrels, giving it a delightful wood flavor touch you typically find in red wine.

Oban 14 has always costed $65-$70 even in Total Wines where I'm from. Maybe it's a region thing?

Honestly I just only see it at specialty stores with a big markup. My shopping options are limited. Costco is my lifeline.

Drinking some Caymus 2021 Cabernet. Not amazing for the price. I’ve been drinking Frank family Cabernet at half the price, and I think it’s better. Not a wine connoisseur, so maybe I have bad taste.

Seems expensive for $90/ bottle but even more egregious is selling $65 Bottles with "California" appellation. "California" means the grapes are coming from Central Valley - Ouch. I can buy good bottles of Cabernet for <$20 with Grapes from Sonoma county.

 

You can't make great wine with crappy grapes (at least that's what my dad told me who was a winemaker).

We just returned home from a long trip to Florida with a lot of driving and ate dinner next to the roadside hotel one night at a "Longhorn Steakhouse" - I think it is a Darden brand.  If you really want to know where the dregs of the Caymus central valley grape supply end up, it is in a LongHorn Steakhouse "exclusive" product called "BONANZA by caymus."  36 a bottle at the restaurant.  Blech!

I was drinking the Napa valley one to the left. It was good, but not worth $90. I actually bought a 1 liter bottle on sale for $85, so probably not a bad deal, but…

 

The Frank family Cabernet from Calistoga is better, in my opinion, for just over $40.
