porcupine Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Looking for some more finance movies to watch. I enjoyed Trading Spaces, The Big Short, and Wolf of Wall Street... anybody have any recommendations???
mjohn707 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Other People’s Money with Danny Devito is my favorite
JayGatsby Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I watched the HBO Madoff movie pretty recently. De Niro did a really good job as Madoff. Not a "best", but definitely worth watching.
rb Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I'm surprised nobody mentioned the obvious: WALL STREET. C'mon guys! Also Boiler Room.
SharperDingaan Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 The smartest guys in the room - Enron documentary
TBW Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I thought Arbitrage with Richard Gere was really good.
JanSvenda Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Inside Job - A well-made documentary about the crisis. While it has an obvious anti-bank bias which should be noted by viewers, it maps out the situation efficiently in my view.

rb Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 There's also Trader a documentary about paul tudor jones
DocSnowball Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 The pursuit of happyness - although not hardcore finance
nickenumbers Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 It has already been said, but I love THE BIG SHORT! It is really well done.
wondering Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Other People’s Money with Danny Devito is my favorite Agreed. Here is a clip where Danny Devito explaining Ben Graham investing thinking. No other Hollywood movie comes close to understanding the investment process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yypj-aYtp9c
Liberty Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I'm enjoying the new documentary series on Netflix, 'Dirty Money'. Only seen a couple, though: ep 1 is on the VW diesel scandal, and ep 3 is on Valeant.

Travis Wiedower Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Watched a couple movies over the weekend thanks to this thread: The Wizard of Lies - really good. The film makes the wife and sons out to be totally innocent, which is really sad if true. Fuck Madoff. Too Big to Fail - barely good enough to finish. Poorly made/written and there are other higher quality documentaries and docudramas out there that do a better job covering the financial collapse. Speaking of, The Big Short remains my favorite investing movie - I've watched it ~5 times. Margin Call is really good as well.
nickenumbers Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Becoming Warren Buffett 2017 HBO Documentary Films [i am sure many have seen it, but I don't think it was mentioned yet.
rb Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 MONEYBALL Funny, I thought that was about baseball.
Sharad Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Niall Ferguson's documentary on his book, "The Ascent of Money". Really good.
BPCAP Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 MONEYBALL Funny, I thought that was about baseball. Serious? Just a baseball movie?
