Saluki Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Got assigned some shares of Coupang from puts I sold that expired Friday. I'm keeping them, but I think I have a full position now. Added a little Progressive Planet when I got a fill on a resting bid. It's in my micro/nano basket so I'm probably done adding there too.

Saluki Posted February 2 Posted February 2 1 minute ago, Junior R said: would you turn around and just sell covered calls agisnt those No, because I want to hold onto it in my coffee can portion of the portfolio (and I think it's still cheap). If I thought it was fully priced (like Kraken, which doesn't have options, unfortunately) or it was very large position for me (like Google), I would think about it. But CPNG is at the high end of midsize (which is where it's comfortable for me) and I still have some long term calls and sold some puts earlier, so there is a chance it will get bigger even if I do nothing. The thing that selling calls COULD do for me, is make it tax efficient. What i'm debating is something like this: CPNG is at $20 now and I have shares that I bought higher than that. If I bought even more at $20, and sold some covered calls it would reduce my basis by another dollar or two. And if Coupang ripped, I could give up my higher basis shares and keep the new ones, and still get the tax loss if the covered calls I sold were 30 days out. And I would keep my original position sizing. But I'm reluctant to buy more on margin.
WayWardCloud Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) Today: More Constellation Software (6.8%>8%) Starters in Lumine and Topicus (1.3% each) More Microsoft (3.3%>4.1%) Last week: 2028 LEAPS on Charter and Coupang (1.4% and 1.9% at cost, 1.8% and 2% now thanks to lucky timing) I want to like Nintendo but I just don't see the attractive valuation a lot of you guys see, even at 10,000Yens. I trim Alphabet little by little but it's still my biggest position and it keep going up so percentage wise it has been steady around 18% for a few months now. Edited February 3 by WayWardCloud
tnathan Posted February 3 Posted February 3 The selloff today is crazy and definitely indiscriminate. Apaprently Broadridge (BR) is a clear AI loser? lol
frommi Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Sold POR and Rubis to buy more CSU, 4% position now, up from 0.7%. Will probably buy more over the next 3-4 weeks.
E. Nashton Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Added to MSFT, SPGI, BAM and CSU. Funded by 2026 sales of CGL (gold).
Lance Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Today: Added to JPXGY, LSEGY, Bitcoin, ETH and IBIT. Bought a basket of business development companies. Watching ICE, NDAQ and SPGI. Wrote puts on UNG. Yesterday: Small adds to a basket of PM royalty companies. Thanks Lance
decipher Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Increased CPNG to ~10%. Calls and spreads '28 15C, '28 20/23, '27 25/30, '28 30/35, '27 35/40. Used '27 spreads when '28 spreads did not get good fills.
rogermunibond Posted February 3 Posted February 3 What are the chances that a SaaS focused pod shop or two are blowing up?
gfp Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Bought the dip in Fairfax India. Yesterday it was up on Trump/Modi news and today gave it all back.

I got the idea to use spreads after your posts in LQDA thread. LQDA price ran away before I could build a position. Thanks for sharing your strategy @Inofeisone

rogermunibond Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Tempted to buy some IGV ERP software won't get replaced by AI written software. There's a lot of hand holding needed to implement these systems.
