Well Cubs, it seems that the guy in charge of your economy obviously has no grasp of the simple concept of percentages. That's fine, but then he uses percentages in the random tariffs he slaps on various items and countries. It just might indicate to some that he doesn't know what he is doing.

Fair play for calling it out - really counterproductive & risky move to push India even an inch closer to China….i hope your right and its theatre designed to make it look like Trump is trying to ‘win’ against Russia in Ukraine such that when Ukraine has its ‘Afghanistan moment’ and the front line collapses that he can say he tried everything to support them…the noises from Modi…the four refused Trump calls etc…point to something a little more than theatre and a genuine schism in relations indeed internal Indian media speaks openly about the US being an untrustworthy and unstable partner that might require a pivot to the East. Let’s see I mean it’s only 1.4bn people & 4th largest GDP country globally cozying up to another billion or so people & the 2nd largest GDP country and our strategic foe. I mean what could go wrong, it’s probably nothing.

Or maybe Trump just wants people to talk about drug prices, and guess what, you’re talking about it. And should drug prices fall many will remember Trump’s ludicrous ‘1,500%’ claim and they’ll think ‘well he did get the drug prices to come down’. It’s kinda amazing at this point that people don’t understand Trump’s shtick which can be summarised as follows - 1) say outrageous shit, 2) get people talking about said outrageous shit’. Or the explanation could be as simple as he doesn’t understand how percentages are calculated. But because he’s an old white dude, we’ll be sure to give him the benefit of the doubt…something not afforded to women, or people of color these days.

Race card played nicely, and a bonus remark about women, neither of which makes much sense. I have no idea if Trump understands the %s, but I’m very sure he doesn’t care if the % is correct, he cares that you all get rage baited into talking about his talking points.

Never really cared that much about percentages. Just think it’s interesting the amount of slack/excuses this dude gets. There are numbered lists of excuses Also pointing out that it’s sad to me that many/most women and people of color aren’t afforded this same type of slack. Not sure what you mean by “playing the race card.”

Not sure what you mean by “playing the race card.” Race has nothing to do with it but you’re trying to wedge it in there. The same crowd who claimed there nothing wrong with Joe Biden’s mental ability, and sought to explain his many gaffes, never once mentioned anything about white men getting slack until it was Trump in the hot seat. Much of MAGA is a cult for sure, but there is another cult, bigger, longer lasting cult, and the people in it are still oblivious that they’re participants in a cult, and that their cult spawned the MAGA one.

Here is what you and perhaps the administration don't seem to realize. And this comes from from a country who has been stabbed in the back, slapped with tariffs, treated with derision and threatened and insulted by the President of The United States and it's administration. While policies can "...easily be rolled back in a nanosecond..." do you think the citizens and governments of those countries will just forgive and forget? Suppose your next door neighbour assaulted your family verbally and financially and then threatened you and your families future. How quick would you be to forgive and forget?

Like I said - Art of the Deal - tariffs are a great way to drive foreign policy. Have a little sympathy for those dying in a stalemate war - that NO one in the world has attempted to stop. Tariffs on India are not going to make a shit of difference for teh people of Ukraine - but stopping the war will make all the difference.
