While he had a gun - he had it legally. He didn’t have it in his hands. He was a nurse and did what a good nurse does - went to the rescue of another woman who was being attacked. He only had his phone in his one hand and nothing in the other. He seemed to be on the ground fully subdued when he was shot. It really is a tragedy.

What in the world would possess him to take a gun, approach law enforcement, and then NOT comply to put his hands behind his back and actively resist law enforcement. IF you are law enforcement - and someone approaches you with a gun that is hostile to your efforts- you are in a very very dangerous situation.
