Foreign military escapades have all the characteristics that are like cat nip to a sunsetting narcissist....unilateral executive control, attention generating and historic.....like putting his name on everything......he cant and wont be able to resist going down the military road.

He did not rename the defense department into Department of War for nothing. Imperialism requires a large army and foremost Navy and that comes at a cost. One has to pay and build the toys first before playing with them. The last time Imperialism was tried it didn’t end too well. Edited January 8 by Spekulatius

It's like the man with the hammer, everything looks like a nail. We have already been down this road and seen where it goes...

Looks like the isolationism and ending wars was a lie - I'm sure a lot of voters feel betrayed. This was a big part of his platform.

Obviously, you have not read the detailed security document the administration published in December. It's all spelled out there.

What about what Trump said on the campaign trail? What about all the Americans which are tired of "forever wars"? What about making people's lives better at home? What about all the concern about the debt / deficit?

It’s artful and amusing in the context of it always ending in the exact same fashion. These other dudes do it in a way that comes off as schizophrenic…

Its like watching folks having to perform cartwheels just to defend their narratives. Just can't figure out why people get so emotionally wrapped up in politics. Never-ending extrapolation of the issues du-jour into eternity, only to be forgotten and replaced by more silly non-starters tomorrow. As if Trump owns the exclusive rights to character flaws. Yawn.

There are a whole lot of Republicans that hate Trump. That's why they are dropping out of re-election campaigns, as they know they are cooked. Since when is it a surprise that many Republicans hate MAGA?? They're all ending up on the political trash heap like Romney, Jeb Bush, Carl Rove and Paul Ryan - finished.

That's the brilliance of Trump.

What's is going to be next week.. this could be written exactly for MAGA voters....they voted for an isolationist but when Trump turned interventionist (Iran/VZ/insert future international escapades) they decided that foreign adventures are actually a good thing....seems MAGA can't make up its mind on something until Captain Chaos does.

I just spelled it out for you - where is the foreign war? Iran, Mexico, Venezuela??? None - no wars, just blockades, deterrence, surgical strikes. The brilliance of the Trump foreign policy.

Agree. It is the MAGA that are doing the cartwheels. They don't have any principles or policies they won't flip on.

Spooky Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Israel talking about striking Iran again to stop their nuclear program... going to be doing this until the end of time. Why did the US rip up the nuclear agreement they had in place again? Oh right... cause they hate Obama.

German president says US is destroying world order | Reuters Describing Russia's annexation of Crimea and the full-scale invasion of Ukraine as a watershed, Steinmeier said the U.S. behaviour represented a second historic rupture. "Then there is the breakdown of values by our most important partner, the USA, which helped build this world order," Steinmeier said in remarks at a symposium late on Wednesday. "It is about preventing the world from turning into a den of robbers, where the most unscrupulous take whatever they want, where regions or entire countries are treated as the property of a few great powers," he said.

The US attacked Venezuela, kidnapped leading government representative and now wants to run the economy with a focus on ressource extraction while at the same time threatening greenland and NATO. Wake up!!!!
Spooky Posted January 8 Posted January 8 16 minutes ago, cubsfan said: Yup, just like I thought - you have no answer. Where is the war again?? This is just the beginning. The US just committed an act of war against VZ combining intelligence, land, air, space and cyber elements. What you think they are magically now going to give you their oil? How are you going to secure US oil investments in the region? It feels like we are living in Orwell's 1984 where there is just constant war / military spending / bombing ad nauseam.
