What does one have to do with the other. They should have been prosecuted in those other cases as well. A driver tells a cop who pulled him over for speeding..."Why did you pull me over, the guys in front of me were going even faster over the speed limit?" The cop replied..."Even the best fisherman, never catches all the fish!" Cheers!

Because their boy lost power. And then he tried to do almost everything, even criminal acts, to retain power and usurp the democratic process. Cheers!

So even with all that...your life is still better! Yet, if anyone spoke to you for the first time, they would think the world was ending tomorrow and America was the next what was it...Ecuador! Cheers!

First, I agree with you that the media can be polarizing. Not sure it is particularly worse in the U.S. as so far as print media goes, but certainly is worse when it comes to television news...CNN, Fox, MSNBC, Newsmax (can we even call Newsmax news)?!. I would totally agree with you if the riot happened in the open street or against office buildings/retail or even outside Pence's house! But it happened not just outside and around the Capitol, but within! If someone decides to protest at the courts or breaks a window at the courts, what happens to them? They get arrested, charged and possibly go to jail. Why? What's the difference between breaking a window at the courts or some random house? Big effing difference! If this happened at the airport, would these guys simply get reprimanded or charged with probably severe convictions? Likely some would have gotten terrorist convictions. So it's not about what happened...it's about where it happened! Cheers!
  6. By that same token, why am I paying taxes that go to subsidize the education of your kids RK? I don't have kids. Why am I paying to support public schools, colleges, etc. In fact, I don't have cancer, so why am I supporting cancer treatment clinics for your spouse or grandparent? Using that logic means that no one has to give two shits about anyone...not the welfare recipient, nor the coal miner. Who's asking him to work in a coal mine? Go get a real fucking job! That's the sentiment. Cheers!

By the way, I only used the word "insurrection" because of they way you started to suggest that political clout was being used to jail opponents, the media is corrupt, etc. It was my way of saying that you're blowing things way out of proportion and that your life is pretty damn good regardless of where you think your country is apparently failing! Cheers!

Attempt to hang the Vice-President for not overturning the election. 114 officers hurt. The ex-President telling everyone that the Vice-President didn't do his job. The ex-President trying to manipulate the outcome of the Georgia electoral process. Whether it was a rag-tag, disorganized band of motley fools doesn't negate the outcome or attempted outcome. Cheers!

That's almost entirely related to diet and exercise. Has nothing to do with political machinations or a failing U.S. Cheers!

But with all that, your life is still better today and when compared to past generations! Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm guessing your kids or sibling's children if you don't have kids, are also all doing pretty good and living well. And the amazing thing is that this still exists even after an insurrection and attempt to overturn a democratic election, while flying transgendered vampires were stalking children in elementary schools, Hunter Biden was doing coke in the White House and Michelle Obama was planning her coup of a senile Joe Biden! How the hell will America survive this mess and not become Mexico! Cheers!
  11. Don't disagree with you. But who are the "Rich Men North of Richmond"? Basically those above the Mason Dixon line...New Yorkers, Pennsylvania, Washington, etc. What's with the stuff on welfare recipients and their fudge cookies? The poor eat shit, because shit is cheaper than healthy food. Have you seen what a McDonald's hamburger costs or a box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese...compare those to a bag of salad at the grocery store or a chicken rice bowl at Chipotle. Poor people eat crappy food because crappy food for some damn reason is cheaper than healthy food! Cheers!

America is failing?! Where exactly is America failing? Do you live better than your parents did? Are your children living better than you did? The largest companies in the world are predominantly U.S. The USD is still the veto currency for security. US culture remains dominant globally. US educational institutions remain at the top of the heap. US research into healthcare, robotics, AI, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, etc...all are 1, 2 or 3 globally. Where exactly is America failing? How is your life worse today than 20-30 years ago? I keep asking my conservative friends these questions and they have no answers. Uh, we pay more in taxes! Really, you pay more in taxes than your father did? Your personal corporation pays more in taxes than corporations 20-30 years ago? Uh, healthcare is failing us! Aren't most Americans living longer than previous generations? Uh, radical left-wing politics is running rampant! Yes, left-wing radicals are more rampant than radicals were in the 1970's? Uh, we're getting further into debt as a country? Really...Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson increased the national debt during their tenure by about 750% each...but then they were fighting a war. Reagan increased it by 160%. Everyone else, regardless of party, pales in comparison...including Biden. So what exactly is failing?! Cheers! Cheers!
  13. I've watched almost every game. I've been going to sleep around 3am every other night for the last 2 weeks! That's why I can't sleep tonight either...will have to get back to my old schedule of going to bed by 1am. The two semi-final games were fantastic! I'm expecting a great final between Spain and England. If you saw the Australia/England semi-final last night...I was up to 6am...every goal was brilliant, especially Sam Kerr's! Women's football is now at the point where women's tennis has been for the last 45 years. On par with the men's game! I hope salaries start to catch up like they did in tennis. I hope to see the same for women's golf too! Rose Zhang is going to be as good as Phil Mickelson, better than Annika Sorenstam, and may be close to Tiger Woods one day! It's about time! My niece will have lots of choices when it comes to female sports role models! Cheers!
  14. Great voice...good guitarist...couldn't care less for the lyrics! Read a great article on how "Small Town" and "Rich Men North of Richmond" are becoming the equivalent of gangster rap back in the 1990's, 2000's. They catered to disenfranchised black young men and guys like Aldean and Anthony are now catering to the disenfranchised white young men. No wonder the right wing has jumped all over these two songs and they've become party anthems. Whether it's gangster rap or white country poetry...it's just widening the divide and I haven't seen things like this since the 1970's! Scary! Cheers!

Not true at all. Especially in this day and age. Money will come to where you are if you are a successful, profitable business. Some people will probably argue that the amount of competition for capital in the U.S. is making it harder for startups. The ecosystem is extremely fruitful, but the amount of eggs maturing is getting smaller and dominated by giants. A number of countries are now on par or ahead of the U.S. in terms of startups on a per capita basis...Israel is the world leader now, ahead of the U.S. Germany, Britain, Netherlands...all are approaching or about to surpass the United States in terms of startups per capita. In terms of per capita funding for startups, Singapore and Israel now lead the world. US is still up there and will be for decades to come, but technology is making the world more competitive and efficient. Cheers!

It's never easy. It wasn't easy for the U.S. for the first 120 years when they started from zero...and there was no difference in policy or central planning. In fact, they abolished the only economic advantage they did have at the time...slavery! Cheers!

Especially if you are not looking for huge funding. Companies that are cash flow positive out of the gate, can make it anywhere if they are well managed and develop their customer base. Cheers!
  18. It's funny you posted that. I spent most of last night going over a bunch of TSX stocks with dividend yields on average of 5%+ and a P/E of about 15, while watching the Australia/England FIFA Women's World Cup game. If you think about the run the USD has had over the last couple of years and at some point we have to head back to a normalized exchange of around 1.15-1.20 USD to CDN, Canadian stocks may hold some promise here relative to US stocks in the next year or so. Cheers!

In today's world, you can build a startup just about anywhere in the world and make it a success. There is no reason why an entrepreneur cannot build a successful unicorn just about anywhere. Cheers!

From what I've seen in China...there is as much opportunity there as there is here. The only problem is that anything you own today, might not be yours tomorrow. But in terms of making it...I'm guessing 500M Chinese that hit upper middle class in the last 20 years would disagree with you! And even those that want to come to the U.S., aren't going to stop doing business in China. Just like you had "astronauts" from Hong Kong in the 90's (flying to Hong Kong and back to North America every weekend), you have Chinese "astronauts" who move their family to the U.S./Canada/elsewhere for the lifestyle, but fly back and forth every weekend for work and their business. Cheers!

Not as many North Americans want to emigrate to Europe compared to how many Europeans want to move to the U.S. Does that mean Europe isn't as livable as the U.S.?! Cheers!
