I agree with the first part. I'm confused by the second part. What fiscal crisis are you referring to? Cheers!

People have been saying that for the last 50 years...that is one hell of a period to be afraid of the stock market. You could also remove that risk by buying stocks in other currencies. And how do U.S. bonds protect your interests...at least U.S. stocks grow faster than inflation...the last 20 years would have been incredibly devastating to people invested solely in bonds or treasuries. Lastly, if the U.S. dollar isn't the currency of choice or collapses, do you really think other economies will be in any better shape? Their currencies will get hammered too. By not investing in cheap stocks and selling them at dear prices for capital gains, you are actually increasing devaluation risk of your portfolio over time. But I think this lesson will be lost on you, as you are 100% convinced that you are correct even though almost every statistic shows you are wrong. I'm not saying you should be fully invested. Only that if you find something cheap, you shouldn't let the fear of an economic collapse deter you from buying that investment until the market revalues it closer to intrinsic value. That's very different than being 100% invested, owning the market, or taking on unnecessary economic risk. Cheers!

History so far has proven that sentiment incorrect. Cheers!

Pretty much! Cheers!

Directly attributed...the number is small. Indirectly attributed through funding of state-sponsored terrorist groups...the number is large. Here you go. Cheers! https://china.usembassy-china.org.cn/the-iranian-regimes-decades-of-terrorism-against-american-citizens/

They have different ideologies but it was a marriage of convenience at times and they worked together. Look it up! We all know about U.S. involvement with different organizations...at times they've created many of their own future messes. But to exonerate Iran as some innocent bystander...that's just ridiculously naive and ignorant! Cheers!

The funny thing is, my expense for gasoline is actually far lower this month than any other month in the last 5 years! Why? Because I've worked from my home office almost every day this month! I haven't even used a full tank of gas in the entire month because I'm not traveling an hour back and forth each way to the office. A lot of people that used to work in the city are working from home still. I think as the year continues, clearly higher input costs will hit businesses and prices will rise. I wouldn't be surprised to see a short-term recession before/after Christmas. Many consumers are still struggling and stretched from the Pandemic period and thereafter, and those that were better off and carrying the economy are probably finally starting to feel some pinch. But yes, gas is just much more expensive...no shortage! Cheers!
-
Yup...fully agree. I think you might see shortages in toilet paper again, before you see shortages in gas! Especially in North America. Cheers!

I think trying to analyze macro or even implementing it into a long-term investment strategy is probably more harmful than beneficial to your portfolio. As an investor, I don't give two shits about inflation, deflation or stagflation. Buy stuff when it's cheap, sell when it's dear, leave the brainiac stuff to those that think they are convinced they are smarter than the markets! Cheers!

You aren't going to see that peak 140M out. That red line will be far lower unless there is a dramatic change in Fed policy since their goal is to maintain a 2-2.5% inflation target. That didn't exist in the 1970's. Matching charts is more akin to reading tea leaves than anything else. Remember, even Fairfax was matching charts on what would happen after 2009...they were wrong because of government intervention and we had a booming stock market for a decade. Theoretically, Fairfax would have been correct without any intervention...but guess what? Cheers!

This is true. There was no need for this. This was Bibi whispering in Trump's ear to get what he wants for Israel. I still disagree that this will be as significant as everyone believes. The dynamics of how oil is distributed outside of the Strait is very different today than 45 years ago. Iran's military position and lack of support from others is very different. Saudi's are already up to 7M barrels a day bypassing the Hormuz. Other countries are increasing volumes...sure it will take some time. I think refining capacity if anything could be a constraining factor rather than the increasing supply. So yes, the price shock will linger, it will probably put pressure on businesses, drive up prices and possibly push some of the world into a short-term global recession as the year progresses. But we aren't going to see 18% interest rates or huge jumps like that. I still think a negotiated settlement isn't that far away. The damage is done and will run through economies and businesses, but this is not going to be a multi-year war. I doubt if it will even go past the summer. Hey, I could be wrong! Cheers!

I'm not sure you are comprehend either. Iran has funded dozens of state-sponsored terrorist groups over the last 35 years to attack Western countries domestically and internationally. The amount we are talking about is in billions and billions of dollars. The 9/11 commission report also indicated there were ties between Al Qaeda and Iran sponsored Hezbollah. Cheers!

Hey Spek, Americans killing Americans is just patriotic and supports the gun economy! Iran is a foreigner...they have no business killing Americans! Unless they are recruited to work for ICE. Cheers!

Trump or his team must have assigned him to Biden! Hope the guy is ok, but only in America and under these conditions! Cheers! Jill Biden's Secret Service agent shoots himself while escorting former first lady through Philadelphia airport in freak accident

Sure, but the 800 lb bear is the U.S. and Trump. We all know Trump is a self-serving glutton on the scale of Jabba The Hut! He's going to do what he needs to for self-preservation...and neither the IRGC, Bibi, nor any MAGA acolyte turncoat is going to change that. He enjoys his life more than anything else and no one is going to take that away from him. Cheers!

LOL! Well, the first one he had a golf club flying through the window as he was driving off...courtesy of his pissed off, cheated on wife. Second one, he took the turn at nearly double the speed limit. No idea what happened on this one. But yeah, I've never had 3 car accidents or fender benders, let alone three rollovers in 40 years of driving! There was some talk that if he never picked up golf, he could have been a good quarterback...apparently he can really throw the ball. I would imagine the outcome would not have been as one of the greatest golfers of all time, but like Mark Sanchez running into the butt of his offensive lineman, fumbling the ball, and ending up in jail for stabbing someone! Cheers!

You have to admit, Iranian cyber hackers must be really good to copy his retina scan with those bugged out eyes! Cheers!

Everything will be safe for 10 years and then it will start all over again. This blood feud has lasted millennia! Iran will get to keep their infrastructure, oil and buried nuclear material. Israel gets peace for 10 years. U.S. gets to pull out of this and call it a win for everyone! Cheers!
-
In a good negotiation, everyone comes out a bit unhappy...Iran will have to suck it up a bit too. If they do create global chaos, their regime won't be safe from inside or outside. Israel has no foot to stand on if the U.S. stops selling them weapons or restricts use of the missile shield. Detente will be the only option for everyone to save themselves and save face. Unhappy compromise. Cheers!

LOL! That's actually a good analogy. Stay miserable for the kids! Cheers!

He starts to TACO within two weeks! The "change agent" is still a chicken shit and will TACO. He's getting it from both ends...Iran/Israel (neither is listening)...Congress, voters (no funding, mid-term elections). The Art of the Steal-mister has to turtle and coverup to save face...big TACO Tuesday either this week or next! Once it is all done...he's essentially returned everything to the status quo...markets recover...he'll call them "big wins" as the mid-terms get closer. Cheers!

LOL! MAGA land is a fairy tale land! Cheers!

Yes, you keep rethinking things while POTUS makes chopped liver out of everything the U.S. built over the last 250 years! The combination of good decisions mixed with absolutely mind-boggling retarded decisions...what's the worst that could happen with this guy? Cheers!
-
LOL! He's so ignorant of anything that happened in history other than what he's seen on tv. Remember last week when he asked the Japanese PM why she didn't tell him about Pearl Harbor? He's literally from central casting himself...right off a tv show where he plays a mean boss who constantly fires people! This is the Truman Show like Jim Carrey's movie! Cheers!
