Over 1,000 nurses have applied for residency in British Columbia alone from the U.S. in the last 12 months! The government has already approved over 400 to start working. The rest are being reviewed or approved. We've had a lot of doctors, researchers, engineers, etc all apply for residency as well. Many LGBTQ professionals are moving to Canada. A lot of professionals that are women are moving due to protection of their rights. Totally agree...unfortunately, because of Europe's place on the map, they will have to participate and get involved. If it's happening in your back yard, how do you not intervene in some manner...negotiations, peacekeeping, security, etc. If you aren't involved militarily, then you have to be involved diplomatically. Although, the U.S. should carry some of the economic burden of any settlement/reparations/rebuilding, since they started the whole thing alongside Israel...and Iran has only themselves to blame for all of the state-sponsored terrorism they've conducted over 47 years...including funding the October 7th attacks. From a moral standpoint, I would want to see an end to the war with no more bombings/attacks. No further destruction of infrastructure and no more casualties. A negotiated settlement where Iran gives up all nuclear material and stops funding state-sponsored terrorism. A regime change is not necessary if they give up all nuclear material, stop bombing neighbors, and allow annual inspections of all military/energy facilities by a UN team supported by US and allied inspectors. Almost all of them served under Biden...so there is obviously a disagreement in objectives and strategy. That is to be expected if Trump's administration renamed the DOD to Department of War. Which is correct will be known in hindsight. I'm sure Trump's team isn't taking the most prudent course...more likely a more aggressive course not thinking through the full ramifications, as most are more goal-oriented than interested in mitigating risk. Yes, the tax credit still exists, but when Trump threatened tariffs against productions made in Canada, a lot of business went back to the U.S. It's still steady here in terms of productions and shoots, but nothing like the heyday of movies and studio business. It's kind of like the streaming giants filled some of the movie/studio work that left with television productions they developed...so it's stayed sort of even. But fewer big/studio movies are being produced here now. Cheers!
