  1. Both Trump and Musk use other people as tools frequently, so this should come as no surprise. Both needed each other but have different vision. The thing with Elon is while he is very intelligent, he has subpar social intelligence, which is quite evident when he was on display with Doge.
  2. Gaza feels like Vietnam war remake ina different location. Hamas= Vietcong. Israel can will all the battles but lose the war. How ? Because they become isolated in the world diplomatically. it seems that even Trump get irritated and even if he remains on an Israel wide, he won’t be around forever and then what? What if polls go against Israel then I don’t think Trump is going to back Bibi either for long - he is known to change his mind quickly. Bibi does not really have a winning strategy, his strategy seems to remain in power as long as there is war. Many European and neutral countries who supported Israel (more or less) are now criticizing them.p, so Israel becomes more isolated. I think Hamas may achieve a political win here even if they lose militarily. Again, look at what happened in Vietnam.
  3. I don’t think it’s simple at all. I think those who criticize Israel for their actions in Gaza have valid points and what started as defense, the became and offensive war and has morphed into genocide. Where exactly the threshold from one to the other is, is hard to tell but it seems like the threshold has been crossed where they just pound civilians and without much difference. This also seems to be a losing strategy from a political point of view, which is all that matter because this will not be solved militarily.
  4. PBR-A and ABEV are great dividend stocks from Brazil. I own both. PBR-A in particular is gift that keeps on giving.
  5. Best of all he did not mention Veterans or Soldiers once.
  6. As a Shopper, I prefer Sierra trading outpost, which is owned by TJX. There is so overlap between ROST and Sierra, but it’s not exactly the same.
  7. The problem with MLP, Reits etc is that the stocks tend to be cyclical too and capital market dependent (large debt) and crash at the worst possible time . So they are useless as a source of funds for equity purchases in most bear markets.
  8. There isn’t much available as they are mostly hidden within the keiretsus.
  9. I think @Blake Hampton being 23 year old and posting here on a long weekend Friday night in an online Gheezer forum is gross misallocation of time and resources. Age appropriate investing for him should be investing in himself or finding a great girl preferably with a good job and / or some money. I think the return on investment would beat time spent here and for sure sounds like more fun to me.
  10. Looks like @lnofeisone was correct about $BAH. Big forecast miss and layoffs: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/booz-allen-hamilton-holding-corporation-014216310.html
  11. Not just the kid, the parents (especially the dad) and the psychologist in Episode 3 were superb as well. One of the best Tv shows In have watched for years Superb script - the best one I can recall since the Station 11 miniseries. This deserves to get showered with awards.
  12. What do people think about UAE AI / NVDA chip deal. Seems to me bribery - UAE gave Trump a jet nd los some investment in his crypto venture and in exchange they get access to ~1M NVDA chips for which they don’t seem a use for, except reselling them to the highest bidder - supposedly China. https://carnegieendowment.org/emissary/2025/05/ai-chip-trump-gulf-uae-saudi-security-risk-good-deal?lang=en Is there really another explanation? UAE is not tech powerhouse and even I’d they build some datacenters they don’t have use for this quantity of chips. I don’t know what these export controlled chips are worth, but reselling them at a 30% markup makes them likely a huge amount. Of money even after deducting the above as an expense.
  13. Laurent Perrier LPE.PA trading for a price/ book value of ~1 and a 12x PE. The business could literally be liquidated into champagne and owner would be OK: https://www.finance-groupelp.com/sites/files/lpfinances/publications/2025/Communiqué_financier_en.pdf FCF is weak though because they carry more than 2 year worth of inventory on the books. (I don’t own it)
  14. Well almost every other country currency rising and the USD falling is the same thing. To be fair, a weaker currency was one of the goals of this administration to reduce the trade deficit. Of course it will also mean less buying power for most people. Two sides of the same coin, regardless how you spin it.
  15. Exactly. As a value investor, you want to go where the fish are, not where the other fishing boats are.
  16. I did not know either about the Nazi stuff before researching him. He was a great soccer player and remember that match in 1988 well when he scored the last minute. I also remember what Koeman did which was inexcusable l especially as a captain of the Dutch team. Things have cooled down a little since then. Keep the handle.
  17. @Marco Van Basten Just be careful out there: https://www.reuters.com/article/sports/fox-sports-suspend-van-basten-for-on-air-nazi-remark-idUSKBN1Y00DB/ I never forget this game. Marco was a great player :
  18. So an expired green card due to filing late for an extension is a reason to deport him 10 years later when he was about to get his citizenship? The ICE has used anything from parking tickets to decades old dismissed Marijuana possession, an Ukrainian biology student was deported for smuggling frog eggs. If you put the same onus on US citizens, the country is going to be an empty wasteland. Even commander in chief is a felon technically.
  19. And some people thought LVMH can get away unscathed because they occupy some space in the Grump tower and Arnault knows Trump since the 80’s.
  20. Another interesting case of the ICE going wild on immigration: https://www.yahoo.com/news/ice-imprisons-danish-dad-4-175125216.html Many examples like this. Not sure what happened but I think they put the ICE into search and destroy mode by the new administration. If you ever dealt with immigration (I have) - it is probably the agency with the biggest percentage of a$$holes in the country and that was the case even before Trump.
  21. LOL, 50% tariffs on EU. The playbook for the EU should be clear, raise counter tariffs of same mount, then let Trump raise them again. Slab some extra taxes on US big tech to make sure that stocks go down enough. It will be interesting what happens.
  22. Yes, I am being facetious and cynical, because “going back where you came from “ is MAGA language. As well other countries problems not being our problem. I think the 54 or 58 Boers granted asylum is a publicity stunt. There are 2.7 million Boers (based on a quick search) in SA. Do you think Trump will grant a significant part of them asylum? I think that won’t happen. As far as SA is concerned the country is basket case and ANZ is corrupt and incompetent at the same time. if I were white, brown, yellow or black, I would try to leave SA too, if I had a better alternative. ANZ leaders were at Putin’s victory day parade this year, which to me says it all.
  23. I think this Boers refuge thing is just political signaling. A total of 54 Boers have been immigrated to the USA so far - a very small number. I think it’s just middle finger to the SA ANC and political signaling. Most Boers are well to do in SA and prefer to stay. If thousand would apply to immigrate to the USA, they probably would get denied.
  24. So @Marco Van Basten is @Dinar Alt account? What happens to Dinar’s account?
  25. Why don’t the Boers go back to the country they came from, which his Holland?
