As is the overlooking of the fact that it’s pretty obvious now that the inner circle of this whole thing was basically A list democrats from the 1990s and early 2000s….totally out of character for the party of P Diddy and Harvey Weinstein! It’s not as though 211/214 representatives of this clan just voted to block banning the mutilization of children for political purposes either….and remember, if you don’t see it their way, through that deranged, broken kaleidoscope they seem to look at things thru….youre protecting pedophiles! Ain’t it rich?

I don’t think he is very smart though but  being ruthless and unethical with grand ambitions can lead to many bad outcomes.

 

I think he strives to be seen as modern day Caesar or Napoleon or some other grander than life historical figure who writes his own history.

Perhaps.  But ideology has a funny way of shaping thought.  When someone achieves far more than the average person, obtains far more power than the average person, has far more influence than the average person, and makes far more money than the average person, that someone is by definition much smarter than the average person.  So who is not smart?

Must be intentional. I think they knew the gravity of the material and its impact on the future of US politics and released it like this - knowing that it will be found without appearing it to be intentionally leaked by anyone...

It’s a fair point. Being very intelligent doesn’t mean being a good leader much less being good in politics. Obama is smart and eloquent but lacking in ability to be decisive and lacking vision.

 

Trump certainly has both although but I

am not sure I like his vision and being decisive can also mean making many dump decisions without reflection. Only time will tell.

Department of War was almost wrecked under Biden - they missed all their recruiting goals, driving out soldiers that wouldn't take a vaccine, while Biden lets millions of illegals into the country without requiring vaccines. Now our military is over enlisted due to Hegseth.

 

Dept. of Health was run by a tranny who is fully on-board with castrating children.

 

FBI was THE most corrupt department in the Feds as they run around fabricating and hiding evidence against Biden's political foes, then lying to congress about it all.

 

Witkoff settles the Gaza/Israel campaign, while Biden pays Iran to fund their terrorist proxies.

I have no idea why and to be honest, at this point it doesnt matter.  If someone blocked it, charge them with obstruction! Because something was done wrong in the past is not reason to keep doing it.  

 

But id also turn it around and say why guess?  Trump campaigned on releasing the files and if there's nothing bad in there for him then release everyrhing with minimal redactiins. why is he doing everything possible to stop the release?  Especially when something like 70-80% of people from both parties are pushing for it.  What exactly is in there thats driving this behavior (and has for years)?

I dont know how many times I need to repeat it but if people obstructed in the past - nail them!  Charge them with obstruction and everything else!  Why are you more obsessed with the wrongs of the past 10 years than with correcting those wrongs and punishing the perpetrators?

Prosecutions are normally brought out of the public eye.  It’s quiet and often secret work.  The secrecy around such things is not unusual.

 

Trump may have campaigned about releasing the files, but so what?  Plenty of other things he campaigned on which I’m sure you don’t want him to do.

Its not like any other campaign promise that gets forgotten later, its that he campaigned on the release and openness and then immediately fought hard to do the exact opposite despite it being the one issue that everyone seems to agree upon (except on this board apparently). 

 

The Epstein obsession is because it involves sex, children, rich and powerful people, cover ups, conspiracies, suicides, royalty and now the President of the country.  It is everything the public obsesses about in one story.

Not sure the Epstein case was top of mind for many people or voters except the Q fringes.....but it most certainly sprung to top of mind as soon as it became abundantly clear to all with eyes and ears that Trump was so rabidly desperate for the files to stay unreleased in complete and utter contradiction to his statements during the election.

 

I'm not saying he's guilty of anything and assuming he's completely innocent of crimes- he made a very poor decision to fight the groundswell for the Epstein files release so fiercely (perhaps it did to save himself some incremental public embarrassment).

 

The American public isnt stupid.....and POTUS might as well have put "CoverUp" baseball hat on for the last few months. Trump and his team have handled this very poorly - their calculation clearly was that they could control the House and Senate Republicans and jacknife the release then bury the Epstein chatter. He and his team should have known better they've marshalled conspiracy theories and theorists for political benefits & expediency for years now. They are not light switches you turn on and off.

 

The effort and political capital spent by the administration/POTUS ultimately failing to stop the release was a monumental political miscalculation and that miscalculation I'm assuming was all Trump's - as I'm almost certain folks close to the Hill would have been telling him it was inevitable that House and Senate Republicans we're going to cross the aisle on this issue and he needed to stand down far in advance of that. I think Trump's arrogance was that he could stop it all. He didn't.

 

Seconds before they did cross the aisle, Trump capitulated with his now infamous truthsocial 360.......but it was too late the damage was done......legitimately Trump can claim Democrats created the 'Russia, Russia, Russia' narrative in his first term......but the reality is Trump needs to own the fact that he himself has created the 'Epstein, Epstein, Epstein' issue that has and will cloud his whole second term.

Whatever you want, but I don’t think there is some kind of conspiracy here.  Again, if Trump was a pedo I’m fairly sure we’d know.  Releasing may sound good on the campaign trail, but publishing in this way arguably stymies actual prosecutions.
