1. I've been off the board for a bit, but love the change to Invision. I've been part of another forum that has used Invision for years, and it is a far better platform (especially on mobile) than what this site was using.
2. where in NYC? I live in Burlington, VT. I remember the days when people (myself included) would line up for an hour or more to get it. Now, it's available at every supermarket, gas station, corner store, etc. here. I still grab some every once in a while, but there are so many other amazing IPAs here in VT.
3. "Even if the research goes well, a vaccine wouldn’t be available for widespread use for 12 to 18 months, said Dr. Anthony Fauci of the U.S. National Institutes of Health."
4. If it hasn't already, the market will likely soon start pricing in a BRK without Warren.
5. What if it goes down 2,000 points in 20 minutes?
6. Does the book cover ways to actually help you sleep better (is that in the appendix?)? I downloaded a preview on my kindle and read the part it lets you read for free, but haven't read the whole thing yet. I'm curious about what he says in that appendix section, if someone minds sharing/summarizing it (at least if it contains anything different than the usual advice for sleeping).

Book Rec's?

I recently read Disrupted by Dan Lyons and thought it was really good. I think a lot of people on this board would enjoy it.
8. It still blows my mind that so many people actually drink their shitty beer, with the huge amount great alternatives.
9. Sounds interesting. Thanks for the recommendation. Just sent a sample of it to my Kindle.
10. With 3 kids ranging from 1-7, sleep is at a premium in my house.
11. Nice pun..intentional or not. I have absolutely no idea what differentiates any of these marijuana companies from the rest of them. While I indulge once in a while, the business site of this is way outside my circle of competency.
12. WTF...Tilray..which is expected to do sales of under $40 million this year (and is not profitable) had their market cap go up to $28 billion yesterday, just based on their CEO basically saying a pharmaceutical company should buy them in an interview with Jim Cramer. ...not a bubble at all
13. I gave up about half way through this book.I found the book being in chronological order, as well including so many minute details and stories, super boring.
14. Sorry you're going through this. It doesn't seem likely for a judge to accept forum posts as usable evidence, no? The above post from CassiusKing1 is good, but that could be recreated in seconds.
15. The Egg McMuffin Meal and the occasional ice cream sunday (or that Oreo flurry thing) are pretty much the only things I ever get there. I think their coffee is usually pretty terrible, but I usually get it with the McMuffin meal.
16. Those are 4 bad options to choose from. Are you looking for companies we think will do well for the next decade, or stocks we think will do well (as those are 2 different things). I still like Visa, Mastercard, UPS, Fedex, and Amazon, as I think people will continue to buy buy (and pay for things), and have them shipped for at least 10 years. 8)
17. It's crazy to think about how many other forms of life are likely out there. Some could literally be billions or trillions of years ahead of us. It's also crazy to think that aliens would travel at least 25 trillion miles (the distance to the closest solar system astronomers think there's some potential for life) to go to our corn fields so they can make circles in them, and then turn around and go 25 trillion miles back home.
18. I think a lot of people who used to be Fairfax shareholders likely no longer are.
19. Could it just be that Fairfax has become a bit of a mess of a company in recent years, and people no longer have a lot of faith in Prem Watsa, and a lot of people that used to be Fairfax shareholders no longer are?
20. They were very clear that they were hedged and anyone who is disappointed in the performance of the hedges simply shouldn't have been invested in FFH. Yeah, but in affect, they're basically saying "if you're looking for a company with a competent investment team, look elsewhere'. They don't have to invest their float in equities. It's up to them to determine the best way to allocate this capital. And they've done a terrible job at that capital allocation for about 9 straight years.
21. Their investing results during a huge bull market have continued to be as pathetic as imaginable. The company would be in so much better shape if they just put money into an index fund for the last decade.
22. I'm just glad our president was up at 3:24am today.....to continue fighting with Arnold on Twitter... http://www.oceansofosyrus.com/uploads/monthly_2017_02/Donald_J__Trump_on_Twitter___Yes__Arnold_Schwarzenegger_did_a_really_bad_job_as_Governor_of_Californ-even_worse_on_the_Apprentice___but_at_least_he_tried_hard__.png.7184c5569f7283360eecffd0ff188992.png Also, removing financial regulations Obama put in place after the 2008 recession seems like a great idea....http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/03/politics/trump-financial-executive-actions/index.html Someone needs to find a way to get this fucktard out of office.
23. Guiliani threw Trump under the bus on Fox News: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/01/29/trump-asked-for-a-muslim-ban-giuliani-says-and-ordered-a-commission-to-do-it-legally/?utm_term=.3c02ae8c4724
24. He is a f**kin' lunatic. https://youtu.be/XRnVdgmnBHA (How do you embed Youtube videos on here? It happens automatically on all other forums I'm on.) Taxpayer funds paying for wall construction and resources spent on "voter fraud" in an election he won Regarding Mexico paying for the stupid wall. "Ultimately it will come out of what's happening with Mexico". I’m just telling you, there will be a payment. It will be in a form. Perhaps a complicated form”. WTF does this even mean?
