Will do that next time I'm in Brussels. Was there last October, but didn't have time to go further north. Cheers!
-
Nah, cut off the shipping of beluga caviar and vodka...the world would crater tomorrow and give Putin $300B plus Melania! Cheers!

Hmmm, Canada handled it pretty well considering they broke one of the key player's leg! Qatar got off lucky considering the mood of the crowd could have gotten rotten after that. Cheers!
-
Canada-Qatar 6:0 uffff Between RasLaffan incident (hitting the checkbook) and this game (hitting the pride), I don’t think Ottawa is going to get much infrastructure investment from Qatar.

It's Putin, who's refusing to come to the table. Moscow refinery attack was pay-back time for Russia hitting historical monastery in Kyiv a few days ago. Ukraine, please carry on. Next thing is likely POTUS negotiating a MOU with Putin related to the Russian-Ukrainian war without involving Ukraine and Europe, where POTUS accepts that Ukranie and its European supporters shall pay Russia USD 600 billion in war damages, and when Ukraine and European supporters says no, POTUS throws himself on the floor in a hysterical tantrum. There are rumors among observers of what's going on in Russia, that Elvira Nabiullina now hasen't been seen around for a while [is she removed, terminated?], and that Putins paranoia is progressing.

We're dealing with people that I think are very rational people, and they were nice to deal with," Mr. Trump said of Iran's current leadership during an event at the G7 summit in France on Tuesday "They were strong people, smart people. … They're not radicalized and they're looking to help their country." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-goals-iran-war-and-what-hes-saying-now-nuclear-missiles-regime-change/ @cubsfan @73 Reds So Donald says the above...what ya think?....for 40+ years the conventional wisdom on Iran has been that they are ideological nut jobs, irrational and a suicidal death cult who dont care about their own people. Now they are rational, nice, not radicalized and just want to help the people in their country! You guys wanted Trump to shake things up.....he most certainly has re: Iran/US/Israel relations if this is the new party line!

Another big slug of CVRX. Now the 2nd largest position in my portfolio.

Probably 60% of their revenue and profits are SaaS. The shares would be way lower if it were their sole business.
-
Perhaps. But the lessons already transpire to Europe and the US and likely China as we speak and will be adapted in the respective defense industry and strategy. It has become clear that you can saturate just about any defense system with relative cheap drones.

I think you mean highs. INR is down less than 1% this quarter to date. The big decline in the oil price is a big positive. Ben Watsa added 40k shares at $17.55 a few months ago before the war ended. Anchorage could IPO or IDBI could be bought. Both accelerate book value per share growth when they happen. Q2 as it stands now looks good as the listed companies are up a lot and the private companies will continue to accrete. The FX hit is also tiny compared to last quarter.

I noticed several days last month and this month that the semis go down while the saas and hyperscalers go up..it seems already the market sees the see-saw nature of this dynamic.

no plans currently. If tickets were more affordable i definitely would.

Ukrainian defense companies will be great buys when they start to go public.
-
You’re right that Iranian players are seen as national heroes back home.
-
Explains why you horde cash and are constantly paranoid about financial Armageddon.
-
Maybe Putin should offer him a couple $bn to come to the table for an MOU.

All valid points. I do know that they are regarded as national hero’s in Iran. I watched the game partly and the spectators there were fair. No booing when the national hymn was playing , so there is that. I am surprised they are playing at all- typically sports teams can’t play in countries they are at war with.

Moscow under attack: https://www.cnn.com/2026/06/18/europe/putin-confronts-war-reality?iid=cnn_buildContentRecirc_end_recirc&recs_exp=most-popular-article-end&tenant_id=trending.en.hybrid-trending Looks like Ukraine has a substantial superiority in drones (slow and low flying and quite cheap ones) and those destroy military targets but also hit the capital city.

I have faith! While Team Melli earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw vs New Zealand, they’re facing major disadvantages off the pitch and could be the reason we didn’t win our first game. • Training base in Tijuana, Mexico (forced to relocate from Arizona due to visa/security issues) • Must return to Mexico the same night after US matches — 5+ hours of travel + border delays, killing recovery time • 15+ key staff & officials denied US visas, leaving the team short on support • Limited fan tickets and extra political pressure The team feels oppressed how they are treated. It’s sad how politics bled into sports.

Would be great to see those pictures! Great to hear you had such a great time! I'm actually in the market for a new home here. Visiting a couple this week. So exciting times. Luckily (and obviously) we don't pay the eye popping prices of Amsterdam or London but it's definitely getting expensive for regular young people to buy here, especially since so many people like it here but the city itself is so very small. Truly blessed to be in a situation where I can just decide to live here in all comfort without sacrifices.
