Back then, many tech stocks were flying and the rest was getting flayed. What we have now is is exactly the same situation. One has to be always careful with comparisons, but I think this looks eerily similar we will see an ugly bear market for stock market indices especially the QQQ at some point. Yahoo acquired Broadcast.com in 1999 for $5.7Bil, cuz da future was streaming video and audio! https://www.internetnews.com/it-management/yahoo-acquires-broadcast-com-for-5-7-billion/ And it only took 20+ years for a few companies to finally produce some profits... haha
Charlie Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Bought some more Berkshire b shares. Thank god the european stock exchanges open before the U.S. stock exchanges.
Cod Liver Oil Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 (edited) Adding to AJG. My bro at Everest has a lot of respect for them and thinks they are ahead of the competition on AI and automation for claims processing. Feels like GARP to me. I hate falling knives but let's see if $240 is a decent entry. Edited November 3, 2025 by Cod Liver Oil
Jaygo Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Topaz at $24.72 and Fairfax at 2233.00 moments ago.
dwy000 Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Interesting chart showing the bifurcation in the market. Only 45% of S&P500 stocks are trading above their 100 day moving average.
EgonKuhn Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Bought a small initial position in AZE.BR (Azelis Group N.V.) and SW.PA (Sodexo S.A.).
MxMI17 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 Added to ZTS. The market hates it currently, but is still a quality compounder with strong future prospects. 2025 EPS guidance is $6.3-6.4 range, which is around 19 PE at current prices , FCF yield is around 3.7%.
Saluki Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Sold some CPNG puts and picked up a few shares with the proceeds. By tomorrow some of the VG puts I sold will expire and I will have a few hundred more shares of that one too, which I'm okay with at these prices. Sold 1170 shares on Oct 1 at $14.55 so getting to buy them back at $8 (put price) or $7.70 market price doesn't feel like a tragedy
Cod Liver Oil Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Getting a quality compounder vibe from AJG and AMRZ. Insiders adding plus good channel checks. The siren song of AI spend is leaving some solid businesses neglected.
hardcorevalue Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 CSU/TOI Earnings tomorrow though so maybe cheaper after. There seems to be no marginal buyer. 36% drawdown on CSU, biggest in history, let see if it hits 50%! Very attractive unless the compounding machine is broken of course.

I bet you get some more insiders stepping in after earnings.

Yep - fairly unchartered territory, so as you say, either a 'generational opportunity' (I mean, not seriously, but you know what I mean) or the compounding machine is broken. I don't know, but feel like the ship has been built pretty durably. (though I am a biased holder...) Edited November 6, 2025 by thowed
