🙂  We had some great chats there. Hahaha  but no not for faint of heart

For sure. That's the way it goes when there is so much at stake. So tragic.

Definitely learned a lot from you. But not always easy getting there.

Wait a minute, ….. there is a “ban” to discuss US politics …. BUT no ban when discussing and throwing around random comments (positive and negative, factual and fiction) about Russia, middle east and Ukraine.

How is that fair and logical

I'm hoping that you all have some ability to ignore something that doesn't interest you or is contrary to your beliefs.  If you don't have the constitution for that, then I'm not sure what more I can do.  Since political discussions tend to disintegrate into flame wars and name-calling, and spread like a virus to other threads.  Cheers!

Considering the capital people on here have, most can easily fork over the extra 50$ for a second account to temporarily switch to.

I think you'll be implementing the digital equivalence of a swear jar Parsad. 😁

Ahhh, most of you bastards are too cheap to do that!  I think most would just sit out the 30 days and go fishing.  Cheers!

But did anything good come of it?

Did anyone make a Buy, Sell, or Hold decision this morning because of it?

I did, but nothing to do with you guys and your comments!  🙂  Cheers!

That sounds pretty nice right now.

If you aren't grown up, grow up, or shut your mouth, on CofB&F. It's actually not that complicated, yet still very complicated.

You'll get about absolutely nowhere trying to suppress the world view of others' on CofB&F, to the advantage of the world view of your own world view, and on anyone around you!

Please get used to it.

Peace.

It is too bad that so much time and energy here is being devoted to defense of personal ideologies rather than investment ideas.

PYPL down 13% after beating earnings. Is it a buy?

BERY finally gaining traction?

CMG down after earnings.

Things kinda pertinent to investing and such...

Nah apparently everything is just too expensive to consider.

I sold my BERY holding late 2021 to buy Fairfax, which turned well. It was on my radar but like you lost interest after the merger was announced.

Agree on Paypal- trying to dig out just why it sold off so much.

It's simply beyond me, how it is possible to derail a community post and message by the administrator, [totally] into a discussion of an investment [here, BERY], within less than 5 posts.

Nah, the best of them, typically also the most articulate, can transform every element of that pyramid into a good ole fashioned boot up the ass of the intended tardget!

Greg, you are one of the smartest people on this board...was this post REALLY necessary?  This is what I mean by giving a post a second thought.  Not everything in our heads needs to be heard.  Cheers!

Greg [ @Gregmal ],

True, maybe not. I really don't care, and then, yet I do,

However, what I care about, is that we all do our very best to keep CofB&F a pleasant and educational place, a place, where our administrator is not running 'sour' on keeping CofB&F running, for the best of us all, keeping all of us connected.

To make it clear here, what this is about for me, for me personaly, I would rather see every a**hole of a [political] troll, every CofB&F member with no real activity in the Investment Ideas forum, and at the same time stirring the pot elsewhere on CofB&F, on and on again! - where do you think, to be deported to where? [You are not in that league Greg [ @Gregmal ]].

Is not the problem here, that Politics can have a significant impact on investments?

How many of us started to rethink some of their investments when Trump said he was going to put on his 25% tariffs? I certainly started to look at which of my holdings would be impacted and which ones might not. Just look at the number of replies on the subject before it was closed.

I didn't do a single thing when he said that or implemented it.  No effect on my investment process or decisions.  And that's the way it really should be.  Cheers!

Same, except I did buy more NVO as lightning (RFK) struck. I'd already been thinking about adding, and the quick rip down made it easy for me. I think politics, especially in the current environment, will present some nice buying opportunities for long term holds. Other than that, not a trader so I'ma just let things be.

Nor did I. However prior to reading the exchanges on this board I was quite concerned about all the panic surrounding the potential tariffs.

I looked at several of my Canadian companies that might be affected by tariffs. Considering the comments on CBoF I came to the conclusion that tariffs were probably unlikely or at least temporary and in the end would not hurt Canada as much as many were projecting.

Again from comments here, I realized that yes, US imports from Canada represent a much smaller percentage than Canadian imports from the US. But really, how relevant is that? Canadians can get along just fine without American peanut butter, orange juice and booze. But Americans would have a much more difficult time without our oil, gas, electricity, lumber, minerals, etc, etc.

Furthermore, past experience over the years told me that when markets drop, Fairfax shares often increase in value.

I slept well.

Dalal.holdings got the first 30 day ban...who's next?

A bunch of you...both on the left and right side were all close, but he kept introducing new political garbage to a few threads.

Spek, Greg, Dinar and a few others are on notice.  I see any more threads ruined by political posts...I put you on 30-day ban with no warning.

This board is going to return to a state of calm and focused on investments...not all of this fucking bullshit permeating the world political stages!

Cheers!
