They need to have this constant amnesia, otherwise any semblance of shame would take over as they continuously find themselves on the wrong side of the forecasts and prognostications!

So there is no article?  Just like nobody on here other than you and Cubs claiming there will $200 oil?

Why the need to make up counterarguments?

No.  You were claiming that others on here were arguing for it despite nobody doing that.  Once again making up a counterargument. Just like most of your posts seem to reference somebody who's an idiot or an asshole or a moron.  Its like your point isn't valid without a counterpoint.

Only in Magaworld could we watch the price of oil nearly double from $65 to $110 while MAGA tries to own the Libs by pointing out that oil didn’t go to $200!?! Hahahahahaha. Wow, what an “own.” 🙃

These people must think the rest of us are as dumb as they are. I guess that’s what happens when you get your news from the 3 Stooges of Reality TV…Donald Trump, Joe Rogan and Theo Von.

It would be like being at a basketball game, where after the first half, the home team is down by 50 points.  And instead of any introspection, the home team’s fans storm the court, cheering in jubilation and pointing to the scoreboard while mocking the visiting team for suggesting that they were going to lose by 100🤣🤣🤣

It's not as simple as that!  A basketball game doesn't decide global stability in the Middle East.  So the analogy doesn't work.

A better analogy would be that all teams in the league, including the team that might lose, would be better off financially/liveability wise long-run.  If that team wins, it means the league would be fractured and unstable for many more decades!

When you view it in those terms, the analogy is far more accurate and serious!  Cheers!

Just like Buckeye...not sure this is accurate either.

They are saying you guys are gloating about losing by only $50/barrel, and you guys are saying they are gloating because they are winning by $50/barrel.  Is there a fucking winner here?

No, the consumers and businesses are the losers!  That's the only thing that is accurate here!  Cheers!

Just saying, $90 oil is hardly....anything noteworthy. Even as some of the more investment minded folks here have discussed before, adjusted for inflation, $100 a barrel isnt changing much.

Some of these guys just need moan material on the reg.....

The other question too, is if $90 a barrel is moan worthy....well, where was all the moa...Oh yea I forget, it doesnt count and asking that question means "whataboutism" or something dumb like that.

Yeah, I agree.  The price right now isn't so much the big issue or deal.

It's how long will this go, and will some Asian/European regions start running out of supplies...then you will have a big push in price as demand surges and people start to freak out about no deal.

And that's when it will hit North America.  We have enough supply, but prices even for us will go through the roof if this extends into the summer.  The fall and winter will be brutal!

Sure, we'll also make a killing for oil/gas companies, but much of the rest of the economy will slow dramatically.  Certain companies/industries will fail in dramatic fashion.  A minor global recession would turn into a very deep global recession.

I don't think it will get that far...someone will TACO (I'll let you guess who) when the shit really starts to hit the fan!  In the mean time, the stuff I bought during the sell off is rebounding nicely, and the cash is building up again.  I'll be ready for any bigger down-turn if and when it happens.

But I still think an agreement/deal will be made soon, as Trump does not want this to go too long.  He likes quick easy exits or just to exit even if there is a mess.  He can't exit this one until it's partially fixed...bit off more than even he can chew!  Cheers!

The other thing thats pretty awesome too, is that despite the amnesia and chorus's of "that was never said!"...its all in the thread, documented fairly well, and you can see now after a few of these type of "events, that fairly consistently, "peak concern" about energy prices often marks the top, as does "peak concern" about crashes and bear markets and unchartered territory almost always marks a good time to uses that contra indicator to go shopping!

I agree, yet the more material question is who would even care about the price of oil if Iran was permitted to get its hands on a nuclear weapon?

Oh, I don't want them to get nukes.  I don't even want them getting nuclear energy...just creates more uncertainty what they will do in the future again, unless there are fair, free elections.

I'm just saying there was another way to do this rather than brute force with no ally consensus.  Some will agree, some will disagree, but I think there was a better way of going about this...that's all...all avenues weren't exhausted.  Cheers!

Well, no one could figure it out for 47 years so if there was another viable option either everyone from the past was supremely unaware or the time had come for military action.  Me thinks the latter.

Bloomberg - CityLab , Design [April 16th 2026] :Trump’s ‘Triumphal Arch’ Is Vastly Larger Than Other Washington Monuments

Subtitle : Interior Secretary Doug Burgum pitched the president’s plan for a 250-foot-tall monument before a federal design commission — and a very skeptical public.

Key Take-aways :

  • The proposed "triumphal arch" will rise 250 feet in the sky and feature a 60-foot-high gold-plated statue, making it one of the largest structures in the city.
  • The US Commission of Fine Arts voted to approve the concept for the arch, but did not fast-track the vote for final approval, with some commissioners expressing concerns about preserving views between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
  • The commission received about 1,000 public comments about the arch, all of which were opposed, with criticisms including that the arch is wasteful, gaudy, incompatible, disrespectful and imperial.

My mouth is shut, it's not my tax money contributions to the society spent on this. -Except that I personally think it looks French, perhaps Roman. 🫢

But what do my fellow American board members think about this?

And what does the ordinary Smiths, Johnsons, Williams's, Browns, and Jones's among the US voters thank think about this?

Well, Trump always steals from everyone else, so why not the Romans and the French!  😂  And if the U.S. isn't Imperial, I'll be a monkey's uncle!

I actually agree with the Congressional Fine Arts critic who said that the eagles and liberty angel could go...as well as the lions.  It doesn't need those.

Also, as long as it's not blocking the view to Arlington Cemetery like some critics are pointing out, I'm not against it.  it is the U.S.' 250th Anniversary, which should be noted with some monument.

It should definitely not be called "The Trump Arc" or the "The Triump Arc" as some are saying.  His huge library building and the ballroom addition are enough gaudy baubles for this President!  I think something as simple as "The Arc of America" is fine.  Cheers!

My 'Huh!?' comment above could clearly be misunderstood. I meant I'm the worst short term forecaster in the total  solar system!
