<<One leader is playing tiddlywinks, the other chess.>> You're right about that.  Imagine people on an anonymous investment board giving a guy who won two Presidential elections against all odds political advice.  Or imagine them calling the most powerful guy in the Free World who didn't ascend there by inheriting a throne or a palace stupid.  Or imagine that the same guy legally defeated an entire corrupt government trying to take him down multiple times.  And further imagine that this guy is worth billions while his critics are worth ???  Oh wait, we don't have to imagine here, LOL.

1B in debt; 1B and $1 in assets; $1 in net worth .... in Trump coin 😅. Old man, out of his depth, looking for someone to dump this on.

No, I'm not even a social drinker...lots of alcohol at my house...but rarely gets consumed.  I might have a glass of wine if I cook something nice or order something from a restaurant.  A nice G&T or Mojito on nice summer days.  That's about it!  I enjoy cigars, but stopped that about 8 years ago.  No real vices other than two cups of coffee every day.

You know, for most of my young life I was like the young people...a social progressive against excess wealth and power...but as I aged, I'm still that, but more of a pragmatist.  Self-interest and greed will never go away...it's actually what propels mankind forward...both good and bad!  Cheers!

It actually reminds me, that I need to update you on the progress and 'State of the Union' on my 'Valentines Day' 'success' [more a totally disaster, actually!] about the vase and the flowers! 😂 I's not good, -my sincere intentions is do a come-back, hot! 😂

More later on that soap opera!

Are these the missing lyrics from John Lennon's song!? It sure would make a nice addition! Much better than that "Imagine all the people, Sharing all the world" crap.  😂

It appears the strategy now being prosecuted by Israel is to target Iranian state, IRGC, and Basij hardline leaders. Maybe that works. Israel appears to be getting on the ground intel from Iranians or Mossad assets on location of these hardliners.

I particularly enjoy the stories about how Trump is Bibi's puppet on Iran. Yup, Iran is not an imminent threat - Trump was suckered in...

Iran never sent or funded assassination teams to take out Trump, Pompeo, Bolton etc.

Iran never said - we have plenty of 60% enriched uranium and you can't stop us from using it.

Iran hasn't been threatening their neighbors and the entire Middle East for years.

Iran has never said "death to America", "death to Israel",  ---- oh - but they really didn't mean it.

Iran wasn't funding the Houthi's to slam the Red Sea shut for Europe's oil.

Yeah - of course - we're all stupid and we can't see it with our own eyes.

Why isnt Bolton dead then?....Trump pulled his security in Jan 2025. He's easy peazy target.

Pompeo

Security also pulled by Trump.

If you had credible threat information that Iran was going to war with the United States. Wouldn'y you reinstate the secret service security detail of your former colleagues and former high ranking White House officials 'if' Iran was on jihadist war with the USA. If Iran was a threat to the USA.

Last I checked I saw Bolton on TV yesterday and Pompeo somewhere else.

Those silly billy Iranian's.....always trying to kill people with zero protection and always failing.

Yeah its very impressive from Israel - Mossad are just elite level obviously.

My basic understanding of the regime in Tehran is it enjoys 20% population level support with 80% against. Its a target rich ratio environment to recruit moles....and Mossad have them top to bottom it seems. Very impressive. However the decapitation strategy (as impressive as its been) somehow assumes that there is nobody to replace them or that you can continue to decapitate ad infinitum. The kill list be impressive here but the regime, in my view, is not some 100 person cabal....these groups are deep institutions with layers that run deep in Iranian society....

I mean I shudder to think but as a thought experiment -  if you took out Trump, Vance would step in, then Mike Johnson and so on and so forth....would the US 'regime' disappear if you went 20 layers deep in a decapaitation spree....I dont think so....I think what you'd get is continuity and a US regime much like the Trump one except way more vengeful.

If I was to guess on Bibi's strategy that I alluded to before - on how to get US popular support and therefore how to get US boots on the ground involved for a regime change war - one of his calculations must be continuing to decapitate such that he gets an Iranian leadership dumb enough and vengful enough to do something that changes domestic level popularity of the war in the US i.e. an attack on US soil or civilians. That is the trigger here. Maybe if you go 20 layers deep in Iran you get someone dumb enough to authorize that mission. We'll see.

Oh my gosh - well lookie here:

According to court documents, beginning in October 2021, Shahram Poursafi, aka Mehdi Rezayi, 45, of Tehran, Iran, attempted to arrange the murder of former National Security Advisor John Bolton, likely in retaliation for the January 2020 death of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – Qods Force (IRGC-QF) commander Qasem Soleimani. Poursafi, working on behalf of the IRGC-QF, attempted to pay individuals in the United States $300,000 to carry out the murder in Washington, D.C. or Maryland

And Pompeo?

In February 2023, Amirali Hajizadeh, the head of the Revolutionary Guards aerospace force, repeated the threat to avenge the US killing of Soleimani.

“God willing, we are looking to kill Trump. Pompeo ... and military commanders who issued the order (to kill Soleimani) should be killed,” Hajizadeh said.

OK,

On a serious note, the tone in this topic to me a couple of times within the last week, or so, has become so relentless, unrelentling, irreconcilable and uncompromising, that it doesen't really dress us well, - any of us!

So I have tried to loosen up the sentiment a bit here, by acting as a break clown in a circus. Better taking some heat for that in stead of seeing fellow CofB&F members for now many years going overboard against eachother on all this stuff going on right now!

Mike [ @cubsfan ],

You have actually one half year more CofB&F seniority, length of service than me. Do you remenber how the environment was here about 9 years ago and the years before that?

It was just absolutely terrible!

-Many times I was thinking about packing up my stuff and leaving, without slamming the door [<-without deleting my account]. It always stranded on 'where else to go?'!

-Much, much better to day, so we don't loose young CofB&F newcomers and newbies, who all are the future CofB&F energy!

John, if I may....  Having not been here that long, the fact is, only a relatively small number of members (out of how many?) feel the need to continually vent about Trump, or whatever on this thread.  It is easy enough to just avoid the thread, as I'm sure many (most) members do.  And for those who feel the need to be on here, if you're willing to dish it out, you most certainly should be willing to take it.  Some of us (me) find this thread a great source of entertainment, particularly when many of my friends and family voice the same cuckoo opinions often bantered around here.  So when that happens, I often reply that I've read their thoughts from otherwise "smarter" folks elsewhere!

@73 Reds,

Much of the above is correct, I would personally say. I haven't yet seen you go haywire here in this topic, I suppose I never will, right? But from reading your posts - all of them - one get to sense quite well, when you're really upset - you simply aren't able to hide it. None of us are.

I have personally been called out for misbehavior a few times my self, here and there. It's my temper. While getting older, I think perhaps my corners are getting honed a bit more rounded.

I'm personally a camper here, however I will not exactly call it a happy one. To me this topic is as much cultural as it is political, and I have learned tons of things from it about especially North American culture and thinking.

I'm personally trying to provide similar Northern European input here to the best of my abilities, i.e. I sense you have appreciated my posts containing information about all the Greenlandic stuff going on, and I'm trying my best to stay out of US internal affairs, I have been called out earlier posting opinionated stuff about such.

Down a half house ytd, so I think that provides the merit for participating here, for my part.
