Good reminder that whenever Trump says somebody told him XYZ that conveniently fits with what he's trying to sell (in this case the war in Iran)...he's completely making it up.

This time - he's been caught making up something a former President told him.....so dumb its not even funny:

Really dude?

Who cares what any other President thinks.

Trump was elected on his own platform.

The last 7 guys all said Iran can't have nuclear weapons - no where, no how - and did nothing about it. And the last 2 bozos just made them more dangerous. There is NO reason to listen to any of them.

Don’t forget to include “the debilitating effects of a stroke.” Remember when MAGA acted like they cared about the mental fitness of the President? Hahahaha. What a bunch of jokers. 🤣

Trump cares enough to make up what other Presidents think and ‘supposedly said’ to him.

dont think you read the story…or know the context…quick google will do it!

As usual, you were speaking about a nebulous group of people never to be named but always to be referenced.  Its like you feel your points have no validity unless there's a "they" to argue with.

But hey, keep posting about how crazy it is for people to keep posting.

So, you ever wonder how Gregmal likes to spout off in defense of Trump like he is some sort of all knowing expert while attempting to belittle and insult anyone who disagrees?

Well, in his own words:

"Ive said a gazillion times that I generally support where he [Trump] stands on policy...but I havent watched or heard anything he's said since maybe, election night?"

Guess that is all you need to know about his credibility.

Not a minnow - Director of the National Counterterrorism Center and certainly privy to the intelligence information required to opine on the subject

"I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."

No doubt the anti-semitic slurs are only minutes/hours away.

Tucker Carlson knows him and said - “Joe is the bravest man I know, and he can’t be dismissed as a nut,” Mr. Carlson said. “He’s leaving a job that gave him access to highest-level relevant intelligence. The neocons will now try to destroy him for that. He understands that and did it anyway.”

In some ways (even before the midterms) we are watching MAGA fracture......tough sledding for them at 2026 Mid-terms and then the Presidential in 2028.....the MAGA movement looks alot like humpty dumpty, all the kings horses and all the kings mean wont be able to put it back together again.....but as I've pointed out before Trump doesn't want the GOP to succeed without him, he doesn't want the MAGA coalition to continue beyond him, he wants the GOP to fail when he's gone......what will please his ego most is to see a Democratic President succeed him and so to the extent he can make that happen by undermining Rubio or Vance he will do that. He wants to be able to say that the GOP was nothing before he got there and its nothing after he's left. Remember its all about Captain Chaos and always will be he is a congenital narcissist.

It was all good until you quoted Tucker Carlson...why?  WHY?  WWWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYY?!  🤣

I even left out the stuff about Kent siding with white supremists!  No, you had to bring this guy into it!

I think Trump may have health problems, but as far as his brain...for his age, he's probably one of the sharpest Presidents in the last 50-60 years...as well as his stamina considering what he eats and all of the stuff he has to do every day in his position.

He's a very driven person...especially if you tell him he's wrong...can't do it...or it makes him money.  Think about everything he's managed to push through (for good or bad), escaped (for good or bad), won (for good or bad) and keeps somehow pushing his agenda...again, for good or bad!

It's just that the thoughts in that brain are kind of fucked up!  Cheers!

Ah you went to the kids table and entertained! How gracious of you lol.

Theyre embarrassed they were either too stupid or too dishonest to point out Biden falling all over himself or spitting up his baby food, so now they need to come up with some partisan version of the same thing because….i don’t know, it’s just what they do lol

But then saw the qualification and realized that we were talking about a set of two.  🙂

Whack-a-mole.  Who's next?

The Israelis don't mess around.

Larijani was a powerful figure. Very clever and highly intelligent. It is too bad he served a regime that didn’t serve the needs of the people.

The other guy, leader of Basiji, taken out was just a thug. Nothing more.

PS: Mojtaba was already a nobody, while Larijani was the de facto leader, now the shadow leader is gone, and de jure nobody (Mojtaba) remains.

Eric [ @cwericb ],

I remember a TV interview in about 2010 with Arnold Mærsk McKinney Møller, where it hit me like getting hit hard  with a club over the head, Mr. MMM replying to the impertinent question from the interviewing person :

Q : 'What do you think is your biggest issue with getting old?'

MMM A : 'Every day, I miss Emma. <his late wife, who passed away in 2005 also born 1913, like him, John> Furthermore, I've lost a lot of friends. While I'm getting old, they have long time ago started to die on me, not many left.'

I was just checking up Larijani ethnicity, I always thought he was either Persian or Azeri. But actually he is Mazanderani.

I ll say this about the Islamic Republic, you could go very high in the power structure, regardless of your Iranian ethnicity, as long as you stayed within the revolutionary guidelines.

@Xerxes,

Please explain why ethnicity matters [ Larijina, Persian, Azeriri, what ever] here. I'm a dumb, ignorant Northern European citizen with no knowledge, what so ever, related to it.

-So, please. I'm all ears [eyes]!

There is a saying in Iran.

"The Turks for the sword, the Persians for the pen." ..

Referring to the fact that historically the Azeri (Turkic) people held the power and crown, while the Persians administered the empire, in the post-Mongol era. The two notable dynasties (Safavids and Qatar) were founded by Azeris, who became Persianized in terms of culture, language etc.

That was the case until the Pahlavi took over. Unlike their predecessor they were Persians and that sort of upset that equilibrium as they pushed for laws that limit Azeri language and certain cultural aspect. As it happens the merchant class in the Bazaars are Azeri, and they played a key financial role in the overthrow of the monarchy in 1979.

In the post 1979, the Azeri took back their role in the edifice of power. Most notably Khamenei himself, who was Azeri and not Persian, as well as the current president.

Currently, Iran is made about 60% Persian, the rest of it are mostly Azeri, some Kurds, Christian Armenians, Lurs and about 2% or Arabs.

But in the halls of power, there was no discrimination about different ethnicities :

One the most wicked ultra conservative politician in Iran is a Kurdish Iranian, his name is Saeed Jalili. He is worse than Khamenei. Ali Shamkhani, the oil trading tycoon and advisor, he is killed, was an Arab Iranian. And the Larijani Clan are mostly Mazanderani, it seems.

Kids are the future!  And they are usually more perceptive than adults give them credit for.  Besides, you "adults" are the ones that may be fucking everything up for them one day.

Distrust in science, medicine, climate change, media, the law, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, women's rights, equality rights, friends, allies, family, other nations...the adults are a divisive bunch primarily basing decisions only on self-interest and greed.

Yup...correct.  Reagan was more like sleepy Joe in the 2nd term, otherwise he would be ahead of Trump.  Even Sleepy Joe was on par or better than Trump in his first year.

But I think any honest person has to admit that while Trump isn't the brightest guy around, he is driven, he is doing a shitload of work for someone nearly 80, and you look at the activity (both Presidential and criminal) over the two terms so far...pretty damn impressive while disheartening!

Yes, that would have been better for everyone.  I still blame this on Obama!

Trump had no real interest in running for President until Obama ripped him apart with jokes in front of everyone at the 2011 Correspondent's Dinner.

His little penis shriveled up in anger because the blood for the first time flowed to his brain...and that was it...that one synaptic burst telling him, "I'm going to get this black guy no matter what!  He didn't go to Wharton, he didn't come from money, his wife isn't as good looking as mine, he doesn't have as good hair, he doesn't own the nicest building in New York or golf courses in Scotland!  He even pays his taxes!  Why is everyone laughing?  Who are they laughing at?  Couldn't be me!  MEEEEE!"

And that was it...Trump became President.  A rabid pitbull chewing through everything he gets his teeth on and a comic book villain come to life!  Cheers!

I suspect most of the people here on CofB&F below perhaps circa 40 years of age may think you have run temporarily short of alcoholic beaverages, in desparation grabbing the night pot! 😅

But eventually, they will get it! 😅 - When they eventually get it, we'll be long gone, and they then think like us! 😅

All the news is about the IranWar but Ukraine has been doing very well this winter and pushed the Russians back while also I inflicting  losses at rate of ~1000 casualty a day. that rate means the Russians take a US Vietnam war sized casualty every 2  month.

Might be time for regime chance in Russia too.

I think it’s getting clearer that Israel is the tail who wags the dog ( USA). They literally are the brain (note all the high profile kills were orchestrated by Israel) and hired the muscle (USA) to provide the punch.

FWIW, I think the EU will get involved in some capacity after we have a truce of some sort.
