Well coordinated effort by the anarchist Democratic party to destroy American cities.  Tonight in Chicago, New York, LA.   Who needs law & order...

Ah yes Law & Order lectures….from the same guy who pardoned 1,500 criminals who illegally entered federal buildings, beat up police officers and destroyed federal property while chanting “hang Mike Pence”….lets not forget that little nugget when we talk about Captain Chaos being some law and order guy

Like when the US Capital Building was ransacked by a riotous mob, egged on by the president (who resisted calling in the national guard, much less marines)

Gimme a break 😂

I feel like you’re making my point. I said there’s clearly a point where the federal government can draw the line. I’d think rioters ransacking the US capital building is miles past that line.

And you make a good, albeit non responsive point about January 6. Trump was impeached, acquitted by the senate, and got reelected. What’s the point? Should we completely abdicate federal sovereignty because trump’s an asshole?

It looks like the military might have to make a decision soon between the Constitution and a delusional criminal. Meanwhile, Trumpty's doing what he can to distract the public from the fact that he's a serial rapist and the most corrupt president in history. I got my sign ready for Sir Shitshisbritches birthday. Plenty of parties going on all across the country this Saturday. Be there, will be wild.

Trump already abdicated this responsibility when he refused to deploy the national guard to defend the US capital from a treasonous riot. The only difference is he doesn't like this riot but he liked the Jan 6 riot.

Well if the game is to selectively enforce laws, that means we get to criticize those choices.

And he doesn't get to cry to mommy when others pick up the ball and join the game.

Well I should clarify: he obviously does cry about it, but how anyone with a shred of self-respect can stand it is beyond me.

I am not disagreeing with you and wasn’t trying to take a position one way or the other about whether I think trump should be able to deploy the national guard or marines. While he’s a hypocrite he’s actually the president of the United States so he still has executive authority and a penchant for novel interpretations of longstanding precedent.

I was just responding to the post that says let the states do it their way. Which I agree with generally. But everything has its limits which you clearly pointed out.

I agree with that, but I'll go a step further and say if the President only selectively enforces laws, than he has no leg to stand on when others do the same.

lol,

To me, reading CofB&F has always been a study in American culture, also. It's very educational for a European citizen, actually.

Christ, what an evening you all have had here, while I was sleeping, now time to go brew my morning coffee and enjoy the calme here ☕ ... - and wait for around 14:00 hours or so my time, and then it likely starts all over again! 😅

No one is equating Hamas with the IDF.  The neighbor argument doesn't hold water here.  If my neighbor was intent on murdering me or my family, we could simply move to another place.  Israel and the Palestinians can't just move...unlike what Trump is espousing!  Cheers!

Which is precisely the reason why Hamas must be eliminated.

I agree, 100%. But the reason, outside of yes this macho man stunt Trump is known for doing fairly frequently, is that LA and SF refuse to adequately police themselves. Either they are incapable or unwilling. Given their apparent annual tax hauls, it's clearly not a funding issue. At this point it just seems deliberate? Choosing to harbor these sort of types of people. That needs to be fixed.

But...as I originally said way up thread...I dont like this one bit. Get the military out of there. Leave them to burn. They earned it.

This has to be one of the most non-sensible discussions I have read on this board (which says a lot).  The issue is simple:  If you lived or owned a business there, what would you want?

The only surprise here is why it took so long, given the experience kowtowing to Xi & Co!

Interesting to see massive shift in legal immigrant support for Trumps deportation policy.

Happy 250th anniversary of the US army on Saturday.

This has to be BS! China is going to give US rare earth for Chinese students being allowed to study in the US?!   The above might be true, but I strongly believe China has extracted more, perhaps more than Trump is willing to admit.

Turns out the richest man in the world doesn't have free speech......tough luck for everybody else......as some commentator pointed out recently corporate criticism of this President has been the most muted he's ever seen.....who knew vindictiveness, retribution and weaponization of federal authority works to silence public criticism.

Not a good sign when Elon.....Jeff Bezos etc. start rolling over to get their belly tickled by administration.

If Trump was in the software business - you'd say that all he ships is vaporware.

We are months out from "liberation day"......and best I can tell what you've got a ~10%+ federal sales tax on imported goods...and some minor non-needle moving trade wins.....net net it was, as many things are, a Trump PR stunt.....a made for television event......the WWF fake wrestling philosophy applied to politics.

After listening to the recent Joe Rogan podcast with Kash Patel, I looked this one up. Doesn't excuse any violence on January 6, but for context:

According to Perplexity: "Up until their removal, the ACIP had recommended routine COVID-19 vaccination for a broad range of Americans, including children and pregnant women."

For what has now become a bad cold. What could possibly be the motivation.
