DooDiligence Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I'm going to Atlanta this weekend to see this guy live at the Variety Playhouse. I got the meet and greet package and will be bringing my 505 (looper) to see if he'll autograph it.

Cheers!
Spekulatius Posted November 23 Author Posted November 23 (edited) Went to see Bruce Cockburn last weekend just because he is till around. Was just OK. Edited November 23 by Spekulatius
nwoodman Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Caught Pearl Jam earlier this week. Vedder’s vocals are ageless and Mike McCready still goes hard, a very enjoyable night out. The Pixies as a support act was an absolute bonus.

Cod Liver Oil Posted November 24 Posted November 24 (edited) Marc Rebillet is comic genius but the gould/liszt/beethoven combination is great to drive the kids to school. Edited November 24 by Cod Liver Oil

That was great. We had the good fortune to attend our local SO as they performed Beethoven’s 9th over the weekend. I will never forget seeing this for the first time and then pressing replay countless times Was almost a techno Viking moment, but maybe because of the cameos Didn't get my looper autographed because security wouldn't let me bring it in, even though I paid for the VIP meet and greet. However, they were letting in a lot of ladies who were wearing small backpacks (shout out to the sound guy who let me store my looper in his studio next door until after the show). Wouldn't have been a big deal but there were other factors that added to my disappointment. The merch bag was weak (a few stickers and an outdated picture of Marc, and no t-shirt). The opening act sucked. I saw Marc a few years ago in Birmingham and the opening act was bangin', but this time he put his girlfriend up and all she did was fire off samples and hot knob on a bunch of Pioneer DJ gear (she was mid at best). That said, I got down on the rail and made it fun but I definitely wouldn't pay for VIP tickets again, and after this experience I doubt I'd even spring for GA tickets. Marc does not GAF about the fans (GUARANTEED). He spent all of 5 minutes with the 20 or so people who paid significantly extra for the experience, and then he jerked us all off with a weak merch bag, but hey, I did hear straight from the horses mouth that he prefers the RC-505 MKI because it has mic and instrument gain knobs (he needs to be able to set levels on the fly with DAW voices). I'm dawless (hardware instruments only) and prefer the MKII. My gain knobs are on my individual instruments and the MKII has a crap-ton of more useful features over the MKI. You don't necessarily always need to upgrade hardware but in my case, yeah. If I saw him busking I probably wouldn't drop a buck in his tip jar.
