Watered down, awful writing, incredibly weak action, and zero bite. You wouldn't even know it had anything to do with Taylor Sheridan! Yellowstone worked because of a terrific ensemble cast and wonderful writing by Sheridan...doesn't exist here! Cheers Marshall is garbage. I smelled in 20 min in that first free episode of Prime. Stopped right there and then. Much like Landman these are just adjacent properties using off Taylor Sheridan IP, but the script is written inside a zoo by gods what creatures. I shut it off 3/4 of the way through the 2nd episode and wont watch any more, its just so cheesy, horrible writing, horrible, poor acting, the writing and acting is so poor its shocking, they are just trying to milk the franchise and its so bad its shameful I can only guess that they wanted to get it out asap to capitalize on the brand association and perhaps they are spending their real time on the other spin offs, I think they are coming out with a 6666 ranch spin off, so maybe that is consuming all their energy and they just scribbled some quick storyline notes on a bar napkin for the producer and hoped that with enough cliché special forces terminology and gung ho hardcore attitudes it would carry the storyline and distract from its deficiencies in every other area.....watching the show feels like watching a Hegseth press conference You should be able to detect BS and stop within the first 20 min. Not a full episode and half.

LIke Parsad I was also trying to give it a chance, there have been series in the past that didnt hook me right away. I remember when THE WIRE came out, I lose interest during the first episode it was slow, so I didnt go back for over a year, tried it again and slugged through it and it ended up being one of the best series I have watched. And to clarify, my feeling was the same within the first 20 min but kept thinking, it cant be this bad, I'll finish the episode, ok second episode maybe it takes a bit for them to find their groove and develop storyline...but alas, its just not there!

Yeah, that's exactly what I was saying to myself as well. It has to get better...who would put half-assed work out like this...ESPECIALLY if they wanted to make money on it! Cheers!
Parsad Posted March 15 Posted March 15 If you like Guy Ritchie movies, Young Sherlock is somewhat entertaining in a frenetic manner! Sherlock is actually the real-life nephew of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes...terrific young actor...is going to be a star like his uncles. And the young actor who plays Moriarty is excellent as well. Colin Firth also steals many of the scenes he is in. Not a classic, but a bunch of fun in a Ritchie way! Cheers!

Yep, good not great so far, which is more than I can say for 98% of what comes out these days. I'm half way through.

This trilogy for me is in the same category as when I first saw Star Wars IV, V, VI and then the Lord of the Rings 1, 2, 3. The first group I saw when I was 8-14...the second group when I was 32-35...and now Dune 1, 2, 3 when I was 52-57! I'm roughly the same age as Denis, so I probably shared similar experiences/influences as him growing up when it came to television and movies. I'm not sure I've been more excited for a movie in a very long time! Cheers!

Sweet Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Watching the X-files, this thing used to be on when I was a kid but I never got round to watching it. It’s all kinda BS but it’s enjoyable.

Tried some years ago to take a go at it in the digital age, doing a full marathon. But sadly I was repulsed so much by lousy and lazy 90s writing, and the one-off episode where nothing happens. So it went into “too hard pile” just after the first 10 minutes of the first episode of the first season.

I like the intrigue around aliens but some of the episodes are a bit slow.

Initially, I thought that was weird, as messiah doesn't complete the atreides line and I read the trilogy that was marketed that included children of dune. Personally, I thought messiah was just a filler/go between to set up children of dune. I asked Ai about the history of what was once vs now considered the trilogy and it said children of dune was always apart of it. Anyways, hopefully they finish with Children. If anyone here reads them, make sure to read children of dune.
Parsad Posted March 20 Posted March 20 RIP Chuck Norris: 13 best Chuck Norris jokes to celebrate the life of legendary martial artist and his cultural impact Still one of the most iconic martial arts fights in movie history! The Way of the Dragon or as widely known The Return of the Dragon! Cheers!
Parsad Posted March 23 Posted March 23 SNL UK launched this weekend. Far funnier than the U.S. version which has a weaker, younger cast with less creative writing! Cheers!

Graham Norton stole the monologue from Tina Fey and he barely had any lines. John Cleese was exceptional at that...especially in Fawlty Towers...still the funniest show I've ever seen in my life! Cheers!
investmd Posted March 25 Posted March 25 The TV series Beast in Me is very good. Eight episodes of suspense. One series. An author writing a biography about a psychotic individual who is alive and cooperating with the author... A completely different style that was also v. good was Drops of God - on Apple TV - a billionaire dies and leaves entire fortune to one of 2 people who have to blind taste wine and come up with which wine they are drinking. Set in France and Japan.
Parsad Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I can't believe I never watched the series "Peaky Blinders" on Netflix! Unbelievable that I never paid attention to it. Fantastic show...especially if you love anything similar to Guy Ritchie movies...I'm hooked! Saw Season 1 on the weekend and working on Season 2. Cillian Murphy would have also made a superb James Bond. Oppenheimer was good, but he's just at a whole other level in this! If you are like me and had never seen this series...you won't be disappointed! Cheers! https://www.youtube.com/@PeakyBlinders
