Appreciate the reminder, it's been awhile. Have The Money Game, Paper Money & Super Money all in the collection.

Same thing is happening with Tesla insurance. I have Geico, but have read complaints on Tesla groups where the individual's driving score has gotten better month to month, but premium increases. Tesla insurance is a monthly premium, supposedly based off your driving score. But the correlation is not there with the price increases.

Should be an interesting release tomorrow. Lot of events that impacted our company this past quarter. Curious to see what cash was used, and to see if the buybacks picked up a bit with the stock price hitting the 260's during the quarter. Aside from the stock positions, Insurance and BNSF could drag. May get a chance to buy more in the 260-270 range before year end.

Time to retreat to Helm's Deep. Buying BRK/B.

WEB is pretty focused on his health. He's having too much fun and enjoying himself too much not to make the effort to exercise. I remember a quote from him along these lines: "My knee's are in great shape, while the other young men were playing football, I was reading. My knee cartilage was pretty much stored in a box in great shape until I needed it later in life." I'm too lazy to lookup at what age WEB's parents passed, but I think a lot of it is a stress free, happy life. Stress and worry is a killer.

Agreed! Started some nibbling on Friday.

The only position I have done this with is BRK. And have had good success with it. The stock value is discussed here and one can easily follow it and trade it. My biggest was on July 9, 2020, didn't catch the bottom, but knew it was trading at a very attractive price. Was very comfortable making that purchase knowing the stock value and history. Going to be nibbling at BRK again as the price allows.

If a company pays taxes on unrealized gains and those gains are later lost, does the IRS reimburse the company for those taxes paid on now lost realized gains?

BRK reports earnings this Saturday, the 6th. What is everyone expecting to hear? They've obviously been putting some cash to work this quarter AND you had BRK stock price drop into the 260's to 270's for awhile so buybacks could have happened at a good clip. Will be interesting.

Methinks the "Old Man" still has it.

I'm more concerned with the ownership void once all of WEB's shares our donated/sold. That's a majority shareholder that is liquidating. Putting both pressure on the stock and increasing the need to do very aggressive buybacks. Not sure what the rules are, but like I've been saying, it would be great to have the shares donated to the Foundations, then bought back in large blocks and retired. Thoughts?

Well, if it wasn't for Ted and Todd, chances are we would never have owned Apple. So what's that worth? And I think in reference to WEB saying that repurchases were bad for shareholders, was only if he knew the shares were very undervalued and did not disclose that prior to buying them back. He's been very transparent to how he quantifies share repurchases. Cheers!
