Poll: Are You Prepared For The End of The World?
CassiusKing1 replied to Parsad's topic in General Discussion
I have the Allman Brothers Live at Filmore qued up in the SACD player. A bottle of Jack, and some blow to get through the end of the world! It was a nice ride. -
Buffett's latest Op-Ed in the NYT on taxes
CassiusKing1 replied to Evolveus's topic in Berkshire Hathaway
Since a single mother of two surviving on $25K a year in income, would find it far more difficult to come up with $5K in taxes, than a single person making $100K and having to come up with $20K in taxes if you went solely by a flat tax. Coming up with that $1000 in rent would be pretty damn hard. A regressive tax regime is far from equitable! Cheers! Just like in every aspect of life, you take from the responsible, self sustaining to support the unaccountable and irresponsible. -
I'll tell you, I know people who have owned & managed nationwide timeshare companies and it is one of the most corrupt industries which exists. They thrive on what Warren has said for a long time, "A fool and his money........"

Finally got it to work on my other computer, must've been a Java issue. Thanks for the help. -

I keep getting an internal error. Is this a subscription only site? -
To follow up on this, I stopped by the Chipotle restaurant near my office today for lunch. What is usually a line of at least 30 people was about 8. Just an interesting note. I'll be paying more attention to this in the future. The burrito still tasted damn fine to me though.

Ouch! Now that's funny. -
Why Does Larry Ellison Need a $4B Line of Credit?

I think he already has something sighted in his scope. Can't wait to see what he pulls off. -
There are competitors popping up every day. Not the Taco Bell's of the world, but here in Cincy, we've had at least three to four gourmet burrito joints open up lately. Hot Heads, Moe's Southwest, Curritos have all opened up all across the city. It's these copy cat restaurants that will potentially lead to CMG's troubles, not Taco Bell.

I came across DVA a while back and loved it. But it's a restricted entity where I work and I cannot invest. :'(

Bought it, and just got it in the mail. Can't wait to delve into it.

Mark Cuban had put out the idea of charging $0.01 a share on all trades on top of the commissions. I think it would have to be higher than that to curb the computer algorithm trading. But at least people are discussing and trying to fix it.

Some of his expressions are priceless. ;D -
[amazonsearch]Poor Charlie's Almanack[/amazonsearch] I'm very intrigued by this book and want to pick it up. To those who have read it, did it fulfill your expectations, and what, if any, are the differences between the various releases? Thanks.

Warren Buffett wants son to succeed him.
CassiusKing1 replied to CassiusKing1's topic in Berkshire Hathaway
I always thought that culture and philosophy was always instilled in the employees/management. Guess keeping the name and bloodline in the mix can't hurt. -
Interesting. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/warren-buffett-wants-farmer-son-182040693.html;_ylt=AnFUs0LxsOKD5RnUgpyA12.iuYdG;_ylu=X3oDMTQzYmRnMGtzBG1pdANGaW5hbmNlIEZQIEp1bWJvdHJvbiBMaXRlBHBrZwM1ZTRiMjFlMy1mYzAzLTM5OGUtYmRmMi0wY2VkODE5ODZiYmEEcG9zAzEEc2VjA2p1bWJvdHJvbgR2ZXIDZTkzOThkMDAtMjI5NS0xMWUxLTlhZmYtYzFlNDZhNTJkZTVk;_ylg=X3oDMTFvdnRqYzJoBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANob21lBHB0A3NlY3Rpb25zBHRlc3QD;_ylv=3

Think I may put in a limit order and see if it hits. Like to pick up a few more shares around here.

Yep. The customer service rep who replied to me said that: "Due to several journal entries and transactions related to the split, it's an industry standard to charge the fee." WTF! Since when is a stock split, hard to process. Every B share went from 1 to 50 shares. It's not like I owned BNI and was taking some A shares, the rest in B shares and the remainder in cash! Time to move my accounts. >:(
