  1. NVDA send their GPUs to TSM to manufacture. If Intel's FAB can make GPUs for NVDA/AAPL etc.., they will have a future because people want multiple sources. Nowadays, everyone design their own chips. But FABs are capital intensive AND labor intensive.
  2. imo, it’s a lottery ticket, and shall be sized as such. If Trump lose, just sell it. If Trump wins, just keep it. It’s not an investment
  3. the best ways for a dictator to maintain control is to be at constant wars with neighbors— look at North Korea and Russia, and Gengishi Khan. You get to feed and control the military and grab power and send people you don’t like to jail.
  4. Buffett is still the GREATEST OF ALL. Not only timed the crash exactly, and most admiring, he's able to change his mind for his biggest position, and we are talking about a 100 billions+ dollar trades involving like two stocks.
  5. I am more curious if the reason why Buffett is he’s bearish on BAC specifically or he sees some danger with the overall economy ?
  6. Anyone looked at Kinsale (KNSL)? its price is even crazier
  7. I have never heard of about this mattress company bacause it’s Canada. But in United state I don’t know any mattress company that has a strong moat and consistently sustain high profit margins
  8. I think compared to other companies , Berkshire is the one that has the most options to do anything. It basically has the most optionality to make the best choice in the uncertain future. Just like human. Some born rich, some well educated, some are smart. But ultimately it’s those handful options we chose that made the difference of our life. Making the right choice and frankly to have the options to make that choice is the most important, and that’s what Berkshire has.
  9. Remind me an old saying (from Buffett?): people who took subways to work giving advice to people who took rolls Royce to work. is he has been right , why he’s not rich yet? Many Berkshire shareholders are.
  10. Last week or so, Russell 2000 outperformed Russell 1000 by 3%+ in one day. This is turns out to be rare event. It only happened like 3 times since 2000. 2 of those times Russell 2000 continued to outperform for another 4 years. Value stocks are back.
  11. I didn’t add to my position but it was a nice gain and I am holding on to my shares. i just don’t understand this trade enough. What would be the downside if trump doesn’t get elected?
  12. I have most of my assets in BRK. I checked yesterday , in my none-retirement account, my lowest cost shares were bought at $126. Over the years, I used margins to trade around other stocks. The stability of BRK gave me some assurance that I won't get margin called. My margin also has never exceeded 10% of my account. As for how did I do with those tradings? I would say I am not as smart as I think I am.
  13. Looks like trump may very well win. what will happen to FNMAS if he does? I have a small position. Wondering if I shall be adding aggressively next week
  14. yeah, interest rate is so much higher now compared to previous decades so more and more institutions speculating on these products. It’s a generational change for BGC. Their net income is reduced due to large amount of stock based compensations, causing many people staying on the sidelines.
  15. Added to BGC Interesting nobody here talks about this stock. JPM recently downgraded CME citing potential competition from BGC (yet JPM has no ratings on BGC, likely because BGC is a much smaller company)
  16. interesting that they attended a conference hosted by Wolfe Research on 6/4, yet there's no research coverage of DFIN at Wolfe --- yet. So I am speculating Wolfe will come out a rating. Just added some too.
  17. isnt he was also castrated by the emperor since a child — ironically that no matter how great a nation China is, it’s always been under the ruling of some very backward system/class.
  18. I looked at MOMO too. Apparently they are known as the App for soliciting sex — essentially underground prostitution. That’s why a lot of people use it, thus they have high risk for being crack down by the government.
