  1. Berkshire Hathaway - Press Release [Maj 5th 2025] : News Release
  2. CNBC - Markets [May 3rd 2025, updated May 4th 2025] : End of an era: Warren Buffett will ask Berkshire board to replace him as CEO with Greg Abel So I suppose he'll be there in his capacity of chairman of the board of directors, if still reasonable healthy, either on the podium or in the first row on the floor with the other board members, with a chair reserved for him there.
  3. Please watch from the 4:21:57 mark - he grabs a question from station five about what he prefers to be - an investor or an operator, and then suddenly he gives it a twist and starts pulling it off, and ending the Q&A session just after - Game, set & match - *poof*!
  4. Awesome idea!, @Xerxes , @Spekulatius : Photo # 1 above : Wienerschnitzel or pork chop? [but with red cabbage?]
  5. - - - o 0 o - - - As far as I understand, only sold at the Annual Shareholders Meeting this weekend: Ebay, today : I'm not amused by seeing the price stages, bids in auctions and 'Buy it Now!' ask prices already on E-Bay! Book scalping? It's beyond me that Berkshire treats shareholders not attending and others interested like this. The 50 years Anniversary Book [first edition] is still available on E-Bay at original decided and set price, where there in a period was a link from Berkshire mail page to the place to buy. E-Bay Search
  6. Wikipedia : German surrender at Lüneburg Heath 80 years ago today. Never, ever again, please! Ryvangen, Copenhagen, this evening :
  7. Thank you for the lead, @Munger_Disciple, Personally, I'm actually a bit shaken by listening to the interview with Ron Olson. There is no doubt his leave from the Berkshire board of directors was not in accordance with what he him self wanted. I still remember my internal reaction reading @gfps post about changes to Berkshire board governance , where it was stated that all Berkshire board members are evaluated on equal terms, except with regard to age, where some board members now are more equal than others, age gradually becomes disqualifying, by setting maximas. Bad taste party, if you ask me.
  8. You are just so right here, @Dalal.Holdings.
  9. Thanks @Munger_Disciple and @Buckeye, This interview with Ron Olson at the Berkshire shareholders meeting has totally skipped my attention during the day. I will be thankful for any guidance to it. Was it an interview performed by Becky Quick? - Thank you in advance.
  10. I have to agree with you, @Spooky, You get the full afternoon session here [and it's 'raw' like was it Eddie Murphy's].
  11. @ValueMaven, The levels of topics for discussion moved above them.
  12. Yeah, @fareastwarriors, The limits of power and influence between the two men appear a bit fluid by now. So be it, and it's OK, as long as they're communiticating with each other in the transitional phase. Personally, I speculate they'll get it to work, for the benefit of all shareholders. I'm feeling pretty confident with this, and I personally think it'll work out. The managerial basis basis is that they like and respect each other. Likely all good.
  13. I bet it tomorrow will be the first time ever he'll be demanding towards the rest of the board. He'll demand to keep his office [wifey escapism if needed, contingency measure] and office paid Coke and McD burgers. The board sending him home just like that in a disruptive way would likely cause the man to wither away in a few months.
  14. As far as I know, there are no age limits for shareholders asking questions in the Berkshire Hathaway bylaws. If you think carefully about it, it needs to be so. Get used it, and live with it.
  15. This weeks KAL cartoon at the Economist [1st May 2025]:
  16. @Blake Hampton, He has been looking dumb or scared, or both - make your pick - for at least a decade. Please just continue doing your own stuff. There are lots of competitive alternatives. None of us here on CofB&F will likely ever come near to him, because he has now spent almost 60 years with his employeés building insurance float to USD 173 B [which in itself actually generates an income!], to finance his doings, at least partly. I assume none of us here on CofB&F, [I assume], has such operational terms and conditions. - - - o 0 o - - - What I see at my investment bank exactly today, looks like a 276 percent gain over 10 years, which is almost a four-bagger. Not that shabby, considered risks involved. - - - o 0 o - - - He is running his own show, his own way. It doesen't stop before he packs his personal stuff and go home.
  17. Political opinions slips out between his ribs and through his mouth. It's impossible to avoid when he is the CEO and chairman running worlds largest conglomarate. One thing I wonder is, who decides which questions get a go at the individiul stations? Is it Becky Quick making the calls?
  18. Yeah, @Gamecock-YT, That made me chuckle as well. Jetlag - - - o 0 o - - - Now we're about one hour into the session, and Mr. Buffett is now warmed up, and the speed in which he's speaking has been going up. He is simply an incredible geriatric! Just like a sea gull hovering in the headwind! The only person that I've known my whole life performing so well at 90+ years has been my grandmother on my fathers side. Everyone else to me has at that age had an appearance as of having one foot on a banana shell, the other in the grave!
  19. Blake [ @Blake Hampton ], We a have a separate topic for the AGM here.
  20. @Xerxes, There are a lot of comments in the 10-Q MD&A. Insurance and reinsurance weak, except GEICO performing satisfactorily. The descriptions of all the ongoing wildfire litigation related to BHE and insurance makes my mouth look like the a** on a chicken [constricted and wrinkled, with no teeth]. - - - o 0 o - - - If you're referring to the Shareholder meeting in progress, then yes.
  21. Yeah, @gfp, We're at at state and point in time, where committing to this error is becoming ridiculous in professional journalism. The number of times it has happened is by now almost countless. [Well, it 'just' a USD 14.38 B balance sheet error. - Around the cost of four Danish Great Belt bridges! ] - - - o 0 o - - - Insurance float EOP2025Q1 at USD 173 B, still growing, albeit slowly.
  22. The 'traditional' 60/40 portfolio is at Berskshire now a 40/60 portfolio. Net sales of stocks in the quarter of USD 1.494 B, consisting of sales at USD 4.677 B and purchases of USD 3.183 B.
  23. YouTube : Guy Spier [May 2nd 2025] : VALUExBRK 2025. The session starts at 22:36.
  24. Two hours and 10 mins! to the 2025 Woodstock for Capitalists starts! I saw this : CNBC [May 2nd 2025] : Berkshire meeting ‘bazaar’ features Buffett Squishmallows, 60th anniversary book and giant claw machine. So a new book must have for all Berkaholics and tons of stuff for those attending!
