  1. OpenAI is painfully slow compared to Gemini and Gemini‘s output is about as good. I want my AI slob fast . Maybe OpenAi is toast. Claude is slow too but has their strong suit in coding etc.
  2. We might benefit from adding a cybersecurity thread. The company I work for is very concerned about cybersecurity (due in needing to be ITAR complaints and being on China‘s black list ) and IT is clamping down on all sorts things like remote access. They also seems to make an effort to get rid of most if not all open source software after vulnerability were detected with some of them. I think cyber security become bigger deal as AI opens up entirely new attack vectors.
  3. Google to OpenAI after announcing $175B in Capex for 2026:
  4. Country / Folk doesn’t get any better than this. Only one of the Highwaymen musicians is still alive (barely)
  5. Ry Cooder is awesome. Many of his records are gems.
  6. I suspect homeownership will trend down from 65% if current lack of affordability persists. People will rent or live in condos. It seems that many prefer urban living with access to amenities within walking distance (if possible) over suburban single family homes.
  7. Pretty good results from Elan. Seems like they should make the forecast of 53 yen in earnings growing ~15%. The stock may have been underreacted to the earnings release https://ssl4.eir-parts.net/doc/6099/ir_material3/272857/00.pdf 4091 Nippon Sanso (industrial gas) also did OK. My two software co’s 9928 and 3836 had mediocre earnings. Same with Tacmina pump 6322.
  8. LOL. Made my day.
  9. Got a decent that out of that one. QLYS isn’t expensive and that sort of software (system of record, cybersecurity ) won’t be replaced that easily, I think I would go for something faster growing like ZS here. Cybersecurity is going to be a big issue with AI because it is much easier to create malicious agents to do all sorts of things with AI.
  10. TEAMS, WDAY, CRM and another are systems of record. Messing with them means potentially corrupting stored data and disrupting workflows with a lot‘s of users touchpoint. It‘s not going to happen that easily. There are also data and cyber security concerns with replacing them. I think it might actually be easier to go heavy on AI with chip design given that all the chip designer cos have large libraries to train on.
  11. I watched Stranger Things S5 and just want it all to end:
  12. These Epstein files keep on giving. From Bill Gates STD to Elon looking for a wild party (email send on Christmas Eve), Ex Prince Andrew kneeling over a girl, Lutnick looking for vacation in 2012 Petter Attia giving dietary advice (pu$$y has low carbs). No wonder the convenient solution was for Epstein to hang in his cell. https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-today/article/epstein-files-latest-news-t9k6cllpf?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=AWEtsqfmKUdA2kGYSUjzmXfy85OhVFnL0qWg9x1zoZQU3d4QPVRmQB2rCWaw&gaa_ts=697f524e&gaa_sig=lup7toydFqCBxn20_oa4lELE1_x2RVO7wiXbA4oj9qBp1CCu-FRraXggsF-FBl8042sGYbcfKndTZsHJJKwEdQ%3D%3D
  13. Yes, they need a way to tax the EV’s as well for road use. The old system of taxing gas in lieu of miles driven isn’t going to work forever. The problem is that the gasoline tax stays most likely.
  14. Since ai know follow them more closely, I can say for certain that for a startup , they are very good at financing their business. the recent ~6% interest bond issue being one example, That’s very cheap capital for a startup. Being born as a SPAC is not relevant any more 5 years after inception. It just means it was likely overpriced to being with, which is now irrelevant.
  15. Yes, if I had to bet on the next big consumer device, smart glasses would be it. meta has the lead here, they have been working on this for almost 15 years. Apple is also onto something but they have not shown their hand yet. THeir VR set shows they have the optical expertise in this space though.
  16. I posted about Taraban before. He provides some of the best self help advice in particular for men I have seen for free:
  17. This guy is a WSB degenerate . I’m also subscribed to his blog, because I think he provides some valuable insight but man - there is a lot of noise. If I had buying power, I would buy the dip. Unfortunately, I am already at maximum leverage.
  18. I think an IBKR paper trading account would be an easier way. Costs nothing. I do think the accompanying funds letter is helpful.
  19. My wife just sent me Pics of people lining upon front of a gold trader store to buy gold. This is from Thailand. I don’t think this is early any more for GLD.
  20. Looks like straight from the seventies. The colors, furniture and style.
  21. New position 4091 Nippon Sanso. Industrial gas co co. It’s cheaper than US ir European peers (APD, LIN.DE) but they have some work to do improving margins and ROI. The stock has done fairly well over the last few years but not so much recently. I think it’s. Great stalwart stock. I added a bit to 6099 Elan co. This is more growthy and controlled by another co (which may buy out minority investors ). They supply hospital and nursing homes with uniforms etc, so it s a bit like Cintas or UNF. It seems to me like they can continue to growth for a while,
  22. Th am you for explaining you trade rationale. Always interesting to see your approach.
  23. Yes , those are the short term drivers. For a while now, I think some central banks convert USD and treasury holdings into Gold. Gold seems to become the reserve currency of choice for China, India and a few other states
  24. I would be uncomfortable if I were the guy on her right. ICE Barbie isn’t used to handling guns apparently.
  25. Exactly. The easy fix of course is low or no tariffs. And while it is true that this all needs to get ratified, same is true for any of Trump’s trade deal as well. I also agree that things will not go back to normal once Trump is gone (regardless who is President next). The new normal will simply not look like the old normal.
