  1. I never understood how we let it get this way. When I worked at INTC in the mid-seventies there had to be a couple of dozen chip manufacturers. It didn't get the name silicon valley for nothing. INTC, Fairchild, Siliconix, AMI, AMD, MOSTEK, MOS Technology, Intersil, National Semiconductor, Interdesign, IMI, MMI, Signetics, Zilog, etc.
  2. Yep, I got my scar and I bet most millennials don't know what I am talking about.
  3. @rkbabang I wrote some May 20th $60-strike puts for $0.90 per share. I had orders in for some June puts but they didn't execute.
  4. My error, I misread and thought earnings were after market tomorrow. Probably missed it then.
  5. I'm thinking about writing the May 20, 65-strike puts on BC. Nice return and margin of safety.
  6. I made it through about 20 minutes of the first episode.
  7. I don't get the babes in bikinis. I just get this guy. Apparently some Wall Street legend.
  8. We just recently discovered the French TV series “Candice Renoir.” She is a French police Commandant in a city on the south coast of France. There are 10 seasons so far and it is still in production. We are really enjoying it.
  9. Yes very unfortunate. At some point even countries that cannot develop their own will probably be able to purchase them.
  10. Thanks @gfp, that is great news!
  11. Called out, so ended up being a successful risk arbitrage play after all.
  12. I think the distributed sources of generation make the most sense. You could build massive solar sites in Nevada, but you would need to install a DC transmission system to ship the power to all parts of the US. I worry that such a system would be very vulnerable and it would be easy to shut down the nation’s whole power system. Plus much more expensive as you point out.
  13. Joni Mitchell radio, Sirius channel 104, ends April 4
  14. Working out 6 days a week with something as strenuous as boxing is not only great for your body but for your brain. You are producing BDNF from your muscles and creating/balancing your neurotransmitters. I work out 6 days a week. Two of those days I incorporate Tae Kown Do, which is more strenuous than anything else I do including lifting weights. I will turn 69 next month and I can still kick above my head!
  15. I've always wanted to visit the National Museum of the Air Force. Now I have two reasons for going to Dayton!
  16. I'll let you know how my renegotiation goes.
  17. Wow, did you take those? I have always been interested in doing that. I have had some telescopes, but the mirrors were small. What size is your scope? I also have that problem, no dark skies near me. I also go to bed early!
  18. The letter was put together and sent on Monday, so it reflects the Fed rate at that time. I'll be calling the guy assigned to may account to try two negotiate lower. He is back in the office next week.
  19. I just got the letter. It is effective rate. Technically it is the upper limit of the Fed Funds Target Range plus 3.25%. So currently my effective rate is 3.5%.
  20. Ran into another Founders KBS stout, this one espresso, when out for dinner last night. It was good so I had a second. I am getting too old to drink two of these high alcohol content beers!
