Sorry .... but no trade secrets SD

I am a data science major. I have already been working for a subscale hedge fund out of college, been a year now. Moving to bigger firm now. No family here, moved to this country on my own when I was 19.

You guys really need to think about this more creatively. There are a multitude of ways to hide/conceal/ maintain wealth worldwide without the need for BTC or worrying about "frozen" accounts. It takes planning but evidently some of you really worry about this stuff.
-
For some of us, there's Bitcoin. For others, there's nature's pocket.

Security takes you, your family, and all your baggage off the plane. You visit the little sound proofed room, are roughed up, all the family jewellery pulled off you, and your wife and daughters strip searched. Most of your stash now gone, or used to bribe your way out. BTC on the other hand ..... you might give up the seed phrase on a single account, with very little in it. Look stupid, look poor, but walk away still intact. SD

Damn. Your live seems to change rapidly right now. Good for you, congratulations. Liquidia LEAPs, working for a hedge fund, moving to NY. What did you study at university? Do you not have a family? You don´t have to answer if it is too private.

Nice work @Gregmal - makes total sense. I am with @lnofeisone sadly, just seen it too often (god, in Europe we had Wirecard as well, which killed some great managers)

Your reaction is the same as the gnat's. You both need to hit back at each other. Just ignoring people works very well! Cheers!

President Trump every time he sees a member of Congress insider trading: "You're lucky I'm president." President Trump to every oil and defense executive: "You're lucky I'm President" President Trump to every criminal he pardons after they donate to his campaign: "You're lucky I'm President" President Trump to his kids every time he passes them government contracts: "You're lucky I'm President".

Is Europe becoming uninvestable?

So....Europe is getting its own NSA? Or have they stopped doing that in the US? Because this is sooooo 2013 -
Looks bullish for FRFHF as more people will pile onto it as its book value is in USD

You really have to love the institution that is the EU/European Commission. Europe's economy is stagnant for years and the future looks bleak. And what are the priorities of Europe's leaders? Recreate George Orwell's 1984: Chat control is a great way to continue Europe's suppression of Free Speech. Anyone who insults the German Chancellor on private chat with their friends or family can promptly be arrested. Hooray! Know who is exempt from Chat Control? EU ministers, of course! This is not a democracy, it's like an autocracy of the elites.

Yeah, it's also true that the rest of the world is basically drafting behind American innovation, kind of like taking advantage of a consumer surplus. Essentially, USA has a system that encourages innovation, growth, and hard work, and that leads to new discoveries that benefit humankind, not just Americans. In the extreme case, Americans often develop drugs and medical technologies that end up being priced lower in many countries than they are in the USA. IMO, this drafting off the USA helps many countries, including most in Europe, I think, maintain a significantly higher standard of living than they would otherwise.

I was at the US game yesterday. It was horrible but at least it was an iconic game (in a bad way)

Don't live in the financial district if you can help it. Even if (especially if) you work there. Its dead on weekends except for tourists and there's nothing really down there. Go somewhere interesting- even a 10 minute train ride will take you to lower east side, Tribeca, little Italy, etc. Even Brooklyn. Get a flavor for the real NY - you won't get that in a brand new condo in Financial District.

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/2026/07/uk-productivity-economy-reform-party/687303/ Apparently just spending a few days in London and concluding that everything is fine in Britain is not a good assessment of the real situation. Europeans have been utterly failed by their leaders. Though a lot of it is also self inflicted: reliance on welfare/generous benefits, excessive sick days/vacations, etc Europeans have been bragging that their lifestyle is better than Americans, but what happens when their countries fall further behind? I'm afraid that even the extra vacation days won't make up for living in a place poorer than Mississippi.

Oh, and find somewhere and get a knish before they're all gone. The story of the knish is the story of 20th century NYC if you ask me!
-
Hah, awesome! I've got friends in Flatbush and ridgewood, if you're interested in either I could ask around. Nobody lived down by wall street when I was in NYC. But - hit up Parisi's for lunch. Some of the best sandwiches in the city at least back in my day. They're still around and presumably still legit.
